My Mom got me a Valentine's gift of a "Thundershirt" to keep me calm during those scary thunderstorms. We saw them featured on Good Morning America. Well when she opened the box a small packet fell out--one of those silica things in a white pouch... I just ate it right up! Boy was MOM MAD!!!! She should have put that shirt on herself to CALM DOWN... she call the manufacturer, and the vet, and looked it up on-line, nobody could tell her anything. So we decided to contact all our Corgi…

Hi Everyone! I just turned double digits, 10 to be exact. And they told me I wouldn't live pass 2...what do they know!! Thank goodness my first Mom didn't give up and found a doctor (vet) that knew what was wrong (Addison's disease). The others guys wanted to send me to doggie heaven!!! So what if I have to take prednisone for the rest of my life! I am a happy girl living…

She is such a pretty girl.
Thanks, Peggie:
I wanted to let you know what DM is :degenerative myelopathy. It is a genetic disease that is prevalent in Corgis. It strikes while they are in thier prime, 8 years or so. Causes incontinence, paralysis, & a lot of pain. It's hearbreaking to watch a dog with it. I had to put my Twinkie down 5 1/2 years ago, but we didn't realize what she had at the time. Now, all of my dogs are DNA tested through offa.org to make sure they won't get it. My Lucy is certified DM clear (YIPPEE!) & her puppies only had 1 gene, not the 2 necessary for them to get it.
Hi Peggy!
Thanks for the warm welcome ~ I have been getting alot of those here and I must say it is a good feeling to know there are so many Corgi lovers out there! Took a look at your pics...yes, she looks alot like my Hanna Banana! This is our first tri-colored Corgi (we've had three over the years), and she is the polar opposite of my Eddie (we lost Eddie in 2009) so she takes some getting used to...I am loving the journey so far!!
The gift feature was recently added to all the social networking sites that use this format. I'm not sure how it works, but I think you buy "credits" towards buying "gifts" using a credit card. I don't get into all that...I figure a nice note will do.
