Another dog???

Hi

About a month ago I posted about having to euthanize my corgi who had serious neurological issues and was literally attacking us. Anyways, our last experience prior was with a perfect yellow lab. So, now that we are feeling that we really want another dog....call me crazy but my heart lies with another corgi. It seems most people with corgis experience what we had hoped to experience....loving dogs who they can trust. I can't imagine anyone having to go thru what we did and if they… Continue

Sad week

Hi All

I never posted before but needed some comfort. After 1 year of all family members getting bitten badly, 2 trainers, 2 behaviorists, vet checks, meds and many scary growling incidents at other people we had no choice but to bring our beloved corgi back to the breeder who then euthanized him. Needless to say rescue would not take him nor could he be re-homed.

We made the difficult decision after the last violent attack which lasted for a good part of an hour. Our home became an… Continue

Well, I'd stay away from that breeder. Most stories I hear about situations similar to yours, the breeders are more than willing to replace or compensate something for your loss. Write her off, she's not worth sending referrals also. I was extremely fortunate with my Pupsters. Keep us posted whichever Pup you decide to get. We'd love to see pictures too.

Hello Amy,

I can't imagine what could have happened to your little fur-baby at such a young age. I agree with Jane. It's a good idea to check the breeders' history. I've been fortunate to have mine get along not only with each other but also every one they come in contact with. Hope you find that special Corgi. . . .

Good morning Amy,

Personally I would not rule out getting another Corgi BUT I would be very careful when finding a new one. I would asked for references and find out much more about the breeder and the dogs and pups...just because they are members of clubs etc. I would find out what the dogs are like. It could be that it was something with the wiring but there are some breeders that will breed a less desirable dog to get the perfect "look: or whatever they might want.

Corgis are fine alone as long as they are socialized well and I suggest classes. May you find the perfect Corgi...they are out there:)
