My little guy is almost 7. Out of the blue late last night he had sudden trouble with his hind legs which I noticed when he went to the bathroom. By the time he went to bed about 30 minutes later, he…Continue

Barking & Calming Down

Started this discussion. Last reply by Vicky Hay Aug 30, 2014. 7 Replies

My corgi just turned a year old and he's still quite misbehaved. He constantly lunges at other dogs on walks, pulls his leash and then barks at the dog as we're passing them (seems to be a playful…Continue

Corgi puppy afraid of kids

I unfortunately haven't been able to expose my 7-month male to many children. Today we were around a 2 year old toddler, and my puppy was afraid as the parent held the baby. He first started barking…Continue

Puppy behavior after getting neutered

My 6 month male got neutered 3 days ago, and today he's barely moved over the last few days. He refuses to walk much when I take him outside to use the bathroom. I've been giving him pain medication…Continue

"Update: I did take him to the vet a few days later. At that point, he was already back to normal and the vet couldn't find anything wrong with him physically or neurologically. It thankfully hasn't happened since. "

Sudden trouble walking

My little guy is almost 7. Out of the blue late last night he had sudden trouble with his hind legs which I noticed when he went to the bathroom. By the time he went to bed about 30 minutes later, he could barely stand up or move his legs and he was clearly not comfortable. His hind legs basically gave out. It was frightening, but thankfully this morning he is able to stand and walk (a little slower than normal), and he’s been sleeping all day. I’m going to limit his walking/jumping and take…See More

Puppy playing rough, never settles down

Posted on December 7, 2013 at 5:30pm 3 Comments

My 13 week old little guy goes absolutely crazy when he sees and interacts with other dogs. He's mostly fine with humans (he tries to jump up, but is fairly good about not biting).

He will bark non-stop at the other dog (30+ minutes straight if you let him) and repeatedly tries to jump on top of them, bite them, and chases them everywhere.

He never "settles down" and will continue to antagonize the other dogs. Even if the other dog tries to put him in his…

Puppy in a highly dog populated apartment complex

Posted on November 8, 2013 at 7:48pm 7 Comments

I live in an apartment complex with a ton of dogs, and there are no real "dog-free" areas where I can take my 10-week old puppy to do his business and play outside. How dangerous is it for him to walk around in the grass outside and do his business? I got him 2 weeks ago and everything has been going great, but I'm a bit paranoid about him catching parvo or other diseases. I just don't know of any totally dog-free areas to take him.
