Help! PJ, now 10 mos. old, has started barking in the middle of the night. He has always slept in his crate without a problem. - With our youngest a senior in college, my husband and I now have 2 corgis! They keep us very busy, and I still haven't figured out how the household now revolves around 2 dogs!! We are very active in dog training, and have learned a lot in the 1 1/2 yrs since Abby joined the family.

- Abby is now about 1 1/2 yrs, and weighs 24 lbs. She has earned her CGC, and also APDT Rally Titles in Puppy Level and Level 1. She is very active, loves to chase the ball and run, and is very bossy. PJ is 5 mos, and weighs 17 lbs. He is slower and more thoughtful about things, and is a laid-back go with the flow little guy. He is learning Rally, but is still too young to trial (soon!) and will be starting a CGC class soon.

Abby is now 14 months old, weighs a trim 25.2 lbs. In addition to her CGC, she now has earned her Rally Puppy Title and Rally Level 1 Title in APDT Rally Obedience. She is also learning foundation skills for Agility.
She has been so much fun, she is about to be joined by a little brother! He comes home in less than 10 days! Now Mike and I will each have one to train! The new puppy is a sable/white, so we'll have one of each. Can I stop with just two??? (Ask me that in about 2 weeks,…

Abb had her spay surgery yesterday, but you wouldn't know it. I'm having a hard time keeping her low-key, even with a sedative! The cone, i.e. lampshade, is a horrible thing. She doesn't have it on while we are up, she has left her incision site alone all day, I'm watching closely, She wasn't too happy wearing it to bed in her crate tho!
So, she is spayed, microchipped, tattooed, and the vet trimmed her nails and pulled the last few baby teeth - it was quite a day.

- Callie took a beginner glass in agility. She learned jumps but everything was on the ground, so she didn't have to leap at all. She has been working on weave poles, and tunnels mostly. No one mentioned that she should get her hips checked. She mostly learned what all the equipment was and not to be fearful in the ring or around other excited dogs and people. She seems to love it.

Geri & Sidney said… - Thank you for asking about Sidney. He's doing really well. Most of the time you wouldn't know he had surgery. It's only when we push a longer walk and he tires out sooner than before. He sits there grinning at me with a "naw, I ain't movin' " attitude. Or when he takes off after Sally the kittty and his hind end sides out from under him because the joint isn't quite stable. I know the dysplasia in the other hip and the arthritis in both joints is a constant source of pain, but he's a tough little guy and very rarely shows it. I'm told that the surgery relieved a great deal of the pain, so it was worth it.
We made Sidney a little enclosure too. It had his crate, another dog bed and his food plate and water dish. It worked well, and we took it down a few weeks ago.
We've used the pro-collar twice for Sidney and he was not able to reach his incisions either time (the other time was for when he was neutered). Then again, I don't know how hard he actually TRIED to reach it.

I wasn't too concerned about the barking until the neighbor and animal control got involved! I signed her up for puppy daycare one day a week. Maybe she'll use up some of that extra energy!
