"Hah, we call that the "shark bump," which she does as positive reinforcement for the simple-minded human. For example, when she puts on a show for awhile in an attempt to get us to run around the house. When human finally rises, the human…"
""Right here, Mom! Look at me lie down! LOOK!" lol, I understand wanting to catch this on video. The challenge will be when Walter figures out the stare and offer behavior is successful- you'll start getting it for everything he wants!…"
"I have the yellow handle, too. It's perfect. We didn't really need it until a year and a half- the third coat blown was the start of it for us. Now we have a mess on our hands twice a year.
We used the zoom groom for awhile as a bath…"
"Congratulations! And, since this thread has gone completely off track...
I love my dog... from a responsible back yard breeder. Like others, I met the 'parents' and 'grandmother,' all of which had a great temperament. The…"
"We trained Vesper to "shake" whenever she wants something, and also have her on a schedule. It helps us know when she's shaking to go out on the deck to bark at neighbors vs. when her water bowl needs filling, it's playtime, or…"
"I just recently realized that Vesper thinks she's in charge of our bedtime routine. My husband and I usually end the night in front of the TV. When Vesper thinks it's time for bed, she sits in my lap and offers a very thorough human…"
"After a night of good decisions at the pub, we named our corgi Vesper after the Casino Royale Bond girl. Got to say, we love the name and call her little else, although when she was a bite-y/snooty puppy, my husband would occasionally address her as…"

Hi All! I'm Michelle, a proud new corgi mom. I just moved to Oak Park from Chicago, where I work as a nurse at the University of Chicago Medical Center. I'm also a graduate student, so between the job, the school, the new home, and of course the puppy, my hobbies are limited! I'd say right now they involve dog walking, obedience training, brushing, bathing, and meeting new people and dogs, all of which are deeply satisfying.

About My Corgi(s):
Vesper is a red-headed tri born April 11, 2009 in Somonauk, IL. She's spunky and bright, and skilled at the cuddle. She loves people and working, so we're working toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification...I'd love to take her to work some day.
