About Me:
I love Corgis! I was born in Pittsburgh, PA and went to college in Boston, MA. Isabella and I have been best buddies since 2008 after I graduated college. We moved together to be with my husband and now live in Brooklyn, NY and love visiting parks around the city.

About My Corgi(s):
Isabella
- Born 4/24/2008
- Tri-color female
- Big ball of fluffy energy
- Loves squeaky toys!
- Destroyer of anything made of paper or has a hint of food smell.
- Big personality, loves to herd large groups of people in our back yard.

Lily
- Born 10/19/1998
- Smaller than normal. She was the only pup from her litter and is undersize. We love her to bits, though and we love that she's small.
- She loves to chase light. OBSESSED with it, though. My dad got her hooked on it when she was a puppy when he brought home a laser pointer. When the new puppy comes I told him he wasn't allowed to do that. :(
- She herds us whenever we're getting to leave the house and has almost tripped us many times.
- She has a very interesting growl besides her normal bark. When she wants different things, such as food or for going outside, she will make different sounds. I haven't heard other dogs do this before!
- Crossed the Rainbow bridge February 2011
I have:
Pembroke

ASPCA Managing Operations in Mississippi Puppy Mill Investigation

Posted on February 5, 2010 at 10:20am 2 Comments

I subscribe to the ASPCA newsletter and this heading caught my eye. I looked at what breeds were in the Puppy Mill and 'lo and behold, they said they found corgis. I'm glad that the ASPCA was finally able to step in and get these animals out. Unfortunately, it looks like they were a little too late for some of the dogs.

Tim Rickey, the ASPCA Senior Director of Field Investigations and Response, says the dogs, which include small breeds such as Shih Tzus,…

NYC's Laws Against Large Dog Breeds

Posted on September 24, 2009 at 2:34pm 7 Comments

I was stunned this morning when I read this news on the New York Times website: Large Dogs in Public Housing Are Now Endangered Species. The law restricts the breeds in which a resident of public housing may keep and forces residents to forfeit their dogs or be evicted. Some breeds affected are pure-bred or mixed bred pit bulls, Rottweilers and Doberman pinschers and any dog with an expected adult… Continue

Excessive Itchiness

Posted on September 23, 2009 at 2:00pm 5 Comments

Izzie has been scratching herself constantly lately. I even try to give her half a Benadryl but that only seems to help her for maybe an hour and then she's back to scratching her neck or biting at her paws. My poor baby. She doesn't seem to be breaking skin or making herself bleed. The only thing I can think of is that I changed her food from the regular Blue Buffalo lamb and rice formula to the weight control formula a few weeks ago. It's the same brand of food though, so I am kind of at a… Continue

1 Year Checkup

Posted on August 17, 2009 at 10:42am 3 Comments

I was hoping to make a post about Izzie and how much she has grown in the short time I've had her and come back from the vet with a clean bill of health, but unfortunately not!

I got Isabella from her breeder last June, so now Izzie and I have been best buds for more than a year now. She was due for her yearly checkup and rabies and parvo yearly vaccinations. I had told the vet that she has been bitten by a lot of ticks since we moved into our apartment and that I wanted the Lyme… Continue

Happy Birthday Izzie!

Posted on April 24, 2009 at 1:19pm 8 Comments

At midnight I sang Happy Birthday to Izzie even though she just sat there in a tired lump and looked at me like I was crazy. Oh well, I'm happy! She is now a year old. :) Any ideas of what to give her as a special treat for her birthday?

Oh my goodness! I've been looking for Ofie's siblings! I'm so excited to have found her half sister! My sister's mother-in-law has an Amy/Billy puppy from the same litter! I'll try to get photos for you, or try to get her to joing the site so she can show you.
