Profile Information

Hometown:
Massachusetts
About Me:
I'm just a lowly illustrator. I'm almost entirely self-taught and I've been doing freelance work for a wide range of clients for over a decade.

My specialty is the dark, macabre and horrific; I love imagining and designing terrible creatures and extinct beasts.

In addition to that, I am an ESFJ, foodie, coffee addict, knitter (and crocheter), wine and beer enthusiast, dedicated gamer and I tend to nerd out about things like paleontology, cryptozoology, mythology and such things. I have a mild interest in philosophy, particularly absurdism.

I also own a corgi.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No

About My Corgi(s):
Spider is my baby. His birthday is March 6th, and he was born in 2002. I obtained him from a breeder when he was about 8 to 10 weeks of age and raised him until the end of October 2002, when I moved cross-country to Massachusetts. He stayed with my mother in California until she passed away in February of 2006, and my brother had Spider flown over to be reunited with me.
I have:
Pembroke

Where to start?

Well, since I last came by MyCorgi.com, Spider had a bout with lyme disease which was successfully treated and was pretty healthy and happy until late last December, when he stopped eating for several days before becoming violently ill.

I had made an appointment to take him in the next morning due to his decreased appetite but ended up rushing him to a 24 hour emergency vet hospital after I discovered how sick he'd been (all over the room and…

A lot has happened

I've been lax in being active here, unfortunately.

In the time since I've last logged in, a bit has happened with Spider. He spent a while in a boarding kennel in the summer of 2007 while Nate and I took a trip down to Memphis, TN to visit family aboard Amtrak.

And most recently (and severely), he had a health scare. We had left the house to run some errands and when we came home, a heavy scent of bleach fumes greeted us. Apparently someone had been using it to clean near… Continue

That New England weather

Posted on December 10, 2007 at 1:18pm 1 Comment

Spider was born and raised in northern California... up until early 2006, he'd never seen snow, much less dealt with temperatures below 40 or so degrees. So, I'm still rather amazed that he adjusted so perfectly to the winter weather and ground cover of Massachusetts upon arriving here to live with me again... Even I'm still getting used to it, after more than 5 years of living here!

He actually seems to like the snow, for the most part. He hates rain because it makes his paws wet and… Continue

Spider is so cute! We adopted Sandy when my husband and I lived in Seattle so we were curious about the snow, too. Sandy loves the snow and has no problem with cold temps but she hates the heat and humidity.
