So yesterday morning we woke up bright and early and headed off to our first dock diving trial! This one was hosted by NADD/AKC. We were a little surprised to show up and see a TON of Golden Retrievers (their club decided to come together), two labs, one German Shepherd, and NO "little" dogs. Tucker has always taken a liking to water, despite the fact that he really can't swim very well. This spring we went for our first dock diving class, where he showed up a bunch of weenie labs by bravely jumping off the dock and into the deep unknown. We had the opportunity to do some modeling for Petmate this spring. Tucker and Zoey did about a dozen products, but this one is the first I've seen on the market.

Tucker and I have really been practicing the weave poles lately. In agility, weave poles are usually the hardest for a dog to learn, and there are several different methods for teaching it. We used the "weave-o-matic" method where the poles are like this:

Ok, well, I call a redo! We competed yesterday at a CPE trial.. all 5 classes. We had intended to go to the show-n-go the night before, but the car broke down 30 minutes away and we missed it. So, I was really nervous and figured that Tucker wouldn't cooperate at all. I was wrong! He had a great start line…

Well, we tried two classes at the Canines for the Cure Texas Agility shootout today. It was our first trial and a big learning experience. Tucker was pretty naughty, but at least he had fun. Issues to work on... coming when called, start line stays, being caught afterwards, listening, not going on solo missions when we're supposed to be a team... better luck next time!

Well, my fellow agility classmates convinced me that I have to let Tucker try in the "real world" sooner or later. We've been going to class for about 9 months now. So, I've sent in my entry form for our first trial! We are going to be doing two classes at the Texas Agility-Shoot out, which is a non-sanctioned event benefitting canine cancer research. We're going to try a tunnel class and a jumpers class. I'm so nervous. I have a "naughty" dog that delights in seeing my exasperation, so…

I know I posted about our recent engagement, but I wanted to update with some more fun pictures. 

At the beginning of May, we loaded up the car and headed down to Galveston, TX. We rented a dog friendly condo with a nice garden out back.

Then we headed down to the beach. The dogs had never been to the beach before.…
