Well this isn't corgi-related, but we lost my family dog Patches on Friday. He was almost 17 and we raised him from a puppy when I was in 3rd grade. He was my childhood companion and I can't believe he's gone.

Well tomorrow's the big day-Jasper's getting his neuter surgery. I feel bad...he's so unsuspecting. They're keeping him overnight since his surgery is a little more complicated than usual. I'm so worried about him although I'm sure everything will go fine. Any tips or advice for once we get him home on Wednesday?
I was awakened at 4am last night to a corgi in distress. It began with barking, to which I responded "No. Go to sleep. Shut up." We had so much fun this weekend! We went on a little mini vacation to Williamsburg, VA and Jasper stayed in a hotel for the first time. We really were trying to find a La Quinta to stay in but there weren't any in the immediate area so we found a Howard Johnson that was pet friendly. I was worried that he might start barking when we left him in the room (even though he was in his crate and never barks in there) because he was in a strange place but we never got a complaint. Jasper got his last set of puppy shots today! I feel like he's growing up so fast! He's 18 weeks old today and weighed in at a healthy 18.5 lbs. He was such a good boy and didn't even flinch when he got his shots. The only problem is that he is still a cryptorchid. I think that's just the way he's going to be, since the vet says his other testicle is all the way up in his abdomen still, but I think I'm going to wait until he's 6 months old to get him neutered just in case it drops. Jasper went to the vet for his next round of puppy shots and his rabies vaccine. He was such a good boy so he got his favorite rawhide chew when he got home! He's 15.5 lbs at 15 weeks and the vet seemed surprised at how fast he's growing. She commented that she thinks his food (Blue Buffalo) has a high calorie count but isn't really familiar with it...does anyone know if this is true? Well Jasper and I just got back on Friday from our week-long trip to Florida! We had so much fun and Jasper was so awesome in the car for 9 hours! He mostly just slept or chewed on his bone and of course we made several pit stops for potty, water and treats! He got to meet his cousins Homer (Yorkie mix), Lilly (Coonhound) and Rory (Chihuahua) and they all had a pool party! (Although I think we enjoyed it more than the pups did!) I took Jasper for his second round of shots today and he weighs 8.5 lbs at 9 weeks! The vet said he is a little overweight but I read somewhere about a pound per week for a certain amount of time? I don't think I've been overfeeding him, keeping treats to a minimum and following the guidelines on the dog food for his weight. I am happy to report that Jasper's first bath went pretty well. I got in with him and he was really unsure at first but I held on to him and talked to him gently, and of course gave him lots of treats! He wasn't too fond of the water, and started whimpering about halfway through. Once we were out, though, he loved getting dried off and seemed really happy to be clean. Well we've had our little guy for 3 days now and he still goes nameless! I'm sure he minds a lot less than I do, but it seems like such a big decision and I want it to be just right!
