Names, names, names...I'm so indecisive!

Well we've had our little guy for 3 days now and he still goes nameless! I'm sure he minds a lot less than I do, but it seems like such a big decision and I want it to be just right! I'm going to hang out with him and get to know him for another day or two before we make a decision, but we've been brainstorming some names and I thought I'd get some input on which you guys think is best!

Oliver (Olly)- I like this name but my husband isn't very fond of it...
Jasper-this was my childhood doll's name and I think it's cute
Gus
Murphy
Duff(y)- Duff is an Irish name that means black/dark
Rhett-I'm a Gone With the Wind fan and (added bonus!) it's a Welsh name
Stubby-self explanatory lol
Sunny-I thought this would be ironic because whenever we go outside he loves to find the nearest shade!

My husband was all set to name him Jebediah McPherson because he thinks it's ridiculous and hilarious. He was joking about it even before we met the pup! It might be too ridiculous, even for me, but I told him that could be the pup's registered name if it will make him happy. Maybe we could call him Mick(y) or Jeb?

We're really into Irish stuff and love Harry Potter, so if you have any creative suggestions they are most welcome!

Or maybe Phoenix for The Order of the Phoenix. I dunno I like those though. I was thinking of naming a girl Nymphodora...lol.

Comment by Geri & Sidney on March 9, 2009 at 1:46pm: Since you like Harry Potter, you could always consider Griff or Gryff (for Gryffindor), Sirius (plus it means dog star), and there are so many character names like Fred, George, Percy, Neville, Cedric, and of course, Draco!
