Looking for a corgi pup

Hi everyone,I know right now is not a good time to be looking for a Corgi pup.  I know  I should have started this search long before Christmas but nothing I decide to do is ever easy.  My baby girl is 7 years old.  I am wanting to get another pup.  However the breeder I got Maggie from is no longer breeding puppies and has pretty much said good luck in finding one. Little did I know what was meant by that.....I have never had such a hard time.  I have searched all over Tx and I am so thankful…See More

" corgis get carrots as their main treat and have for years.  Where did you ever hear it causes doggy wobbles?"

"Thank you for mentioning the Carrot Treat. Cassie and Ruby lobby for their carrot shortly after breakfast. They love it...but I've been a little afraid that maybe a raw carrot is "not dog food"??? It doesn't seem to give either…"

""Just a few pounds" is a lot for a 20- to 30-pound dog. A vet put this in perspective after my aging (and spreading) GerShep successfully lost some serious overweight: he said (with congratulations), "That's xx% of her…"

Food for older corgis.

It has been forever since I've been on here. Needing some advice. My Maggie Mae is now 7 years old so of course her metabolism is slowing. She has gained just a few pounds and I'm realizing I may need to change her food. I feed her blue buffalo 1 cup per day. We walk about a mile to 2 miles a day depending on the weather of course. I'm just wondering if I should go more grain free for her or find a lighter food. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Everyone calls her my little shadow because she is always following me around. She does not like to be alone. Maggie gives so much to our family and never expects anything in return.

Wow has it been a long time since I have been on here. The motherboard to my computer decided to go out and I have been without a computer now for 3 weeks. Thank goodness it happened after finals!!! I have been going to the local coffee shop or my friends house to help keep up with bills but just haven't had the time to get on here. What a mess. I hopefully will get my computer back sometime this week. With that said hope everyone has been doing great!

I finally got my big dog. My… Continue

Dog charm

Thought I would share this website with you all. I am always looking for unusual dog things and this is pretty cool. You send in a photo of your dog and they make a charm for you that you can wear on a necklace, bracelet or put on a keychain. Its expensive but would make a great gift.

Wellness UPDATE

Some of you commented on my last post about if any of you have noticed any changes with Wellness food. This company is so awesome I just have to say that first of all. I called them and they told me that they have not had any formulation changes at all and don't plan to in the future. They are very satisified with their product and know that there is no room for change. Great to know. They also told me that since their food is all natural that the flavor, odor, and color will be different from… Continue

Everyone out there that feeds their dog Wellness

Posted on April 30, 2009 at 10:33pm 6 Comments

I have been feeding Maggie Wellness since day one. I buy it in 15lb bags and I have noticed that the last 2 bags I have purchased smell different. Maggie won't eat it either. She just turns her nose up at it and walks away. I am now trying her on Blue Buffalo but she will only eat the black pieces. So she doesn't really like it either. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed it. I am calling the company tomorrow to find out if there has been any changes with the food.

Learning to Smell the Roses

Well my life has just been turned upside down recently. Due to the economic down turn my husband was displaced from his job here in Fort Worth as a conductor (he works for Union Pacific) and was sent to West Texas. The transisition has been so difficult for me. He came home for the first time this week. It had been a month since I had seen him. He was able to stay a couple of days and then off he went. Thank goodness I have my Maggie and Kids of course.

Maggie is now 9 months old and… Continue

Thank you for the prayers, me and Shorty need them. I will be posting new posters this weekend with LARGE REWARD on them... maybe someone will finally come forward. I really feel like someone in the neighborhood has him. I am sure I probably look like a stalker riding around at all times of the day and night at about 5 mph through the neighborhood. Oh well... LOL

Glad to hear Maggie is doing much better, thats great news! We also stay away from bones of any kind because Lance is such the destructive chewer. He hasnt been able to destroy the Kong thank goodness but I think its because there is food involved, lol. He has to lick at it to try and get the food out! I have also had good luck with planet dog toys from and the waggle from busybuddy which is available at target, it also is food orientated! He has to have something to play with though! The balls from planetdog are rated according to strength and I only get the ones rated 5 out of 5 chewometers! They are squissy when they chew on them which Lances like but cant chew them, thank goodness. I know how you feel when it comest to finding safe toys for our corgis. Its tough. Thanks for the compliment on Lance. : ) Maggie is soooo adorable!! : )

No problem, I'm so glad that Maggie is doing well! It is scary, my girl had something a little worse b/c she just didn't stop being sick! But, yeah those chews just don't do well with some, Penny can't have Nylabone's "greenies". They made her a little sick too. Glad your Easter was a little happier!!

Glad to hear Maggies is ok. Aren't dogs funny? One minute they're ill and the next it's as if nothing had happened. There must be something going around on the internet because Skeezix threw up several times early early this a.m. Maybe it was a sympathy hurl in support of Maggie? Anyway, he's fine now and on chicken and rice, which he thinks is a grand treat. Glad you like Emily's ears!

You Maggie is so so pretty! I love her size. In fact the first Corgi I ever met was a black headed tri and she was small. About 18 lbs full grown. I fell madly in love with her and she is the reason I went in search of a Corgi of my own.
Thank you so much for your post on my question about feeding. I appreciate your time and advice!

Hi Amy, we use Country Acres Kennel here in Arlington but only for boarding (just the girls Never Bear). They have a nice looking agility course but again we have never checked in on it. The number there is (817) 467-2511. Good luck and let us know if they work out for you.
