Wondering if Abbi is crazy or just displaying great instincts... she is keeping the puppy from going off the deck and more and more her barking has become high pitched and she seems agitated... and overly excitable. She has been overweight for a little corgi and yet she is trying to chase and herd the puppy ... with a vengeance.

Hoping someone might have some insight. I think these are overpowering instinct, but she is almost vibrating as she before she barks and they are not cute…

When we got our Abbigail, I posted a series of Abbi meets.. pictures and video. We took some time away from MyCorgi.com, not for lack of interest or anything really other than some struggle with the loss of our Chloe and Lola. and while time doesnt completely plug the holes in your heart, I guess time plus more corgis can at least distract you.

Our  younger Corgi who has never been very healthy, surviving an auto immune disease in her early years, now 7, blew up like a balloon with fluid in her belly , the vet couldnt see anything on xrays all a grey blur, they put her on meds to bring down swelling and pass fluids (somewhat uncontrollably), and to treat possible underlying infection, dropping from 42 lbs to 36 in 5 days

It was enough for the vet to do an ultrasound... Found nothing good. Liver heart and lungs all clear, but…

Since previous posts have gotten great responses ... Young Abbigail met her collar today (actually second time but the first intro was a speed dating session with the brush and other "toys"

Today though my daughter want to prove how much she has learned on animal planet and has the tiny little collar loosely around the Abbineck.

Whining and diving into the walls to rub off the irritant are tough to want but I know we have to do this.

We have introduce our new puppy to the pack and she has been very brave about engaging with Koda and Lola , but I am worried that their "play" may be too rough.

She will run , chase and nip to get them to play , and individually they are pretty tolerant. What I worry about is that the bigger dogs will chase her down and roll her around and when they nip back they dont bare their teeth but nudge and growl pretty roughly

Abbi joined us Sunday afternoon and has already established herself as a force.

Another "farm dog" corgi ... this little Pembroke was born 8 weeks ago and while we are never going to "replace" our first beloved corgi Chloe', Abbi has a similar background from a small farm in northwest washington, her parents were clearly very busy and she was born in the stable next to the horses.
