After very hard 4 days of thinking I decided to take the active and maybe a bit dominant pup. I already had two dogs and I think I can handle a dominant youngster. I'm planning to do some sports and a lot of obedience with my dog, so I need the active one. Here's a pic the breeder sent me. I was thinking about the calm pup on the left, but the guy with his both paws in the food bowl won it (they're 6 weeks in the pic).

I'll take the pup next Saturday, he'll be 8 1/2 weeks old. Some of you wote me that it's optimal to take the pup later, but here it's usual to take the pup in 8 weeks. Also I think that here in my house with nice garden is a bit better environment - the breeder has many many dogs and doesn't spend much time with the pups. They are in a crate whole day - big and everything, but garden is much better than crate.

take it from me-- I got the dominant one... and it's going to take a lot of work to make him "behave" but I wouldn't trade this ride for anything. :-) Good luck, and congrats on the new furbaby!

Well they certainly are cute! You've got some guts to take the most active Corgi. You'll sure have your hands full! : - ) Congratulations!

First of all, I'm glad that you put so much thought into your decision... it certainly wasn't on impulse. I would like to add a few of the thoughts that went into my decision. I had a very dominant and active dog in my household already. I considered whether or not SHE would enjoy a more active dog. I want an agility dog so an active puppy was what I was looking for. However, after taking Oakley to meet the puppies she seemed to like the puppy who was more subdued and didn't seem to care for the more active puppy. Turns out, now that I have Griffen away from his other siblings he is MUCH more active and may work for agility after all. But in the end, only you know you, your family, and your dogs... I just wanted to share my experience. Congrats on your new pup! Keep us posted!

A little advice from a long time corgi owner. While you feel you can handle a more dominant pup do remember you have to consider the personality of your resident dogs. A dominant pup can really change the dynamics of your home. Surely socializing will be very important to you as these guys evidently have been raised outside with little exposure to the typical household noises. Me, I choose the middle of the road pup everytime. Not the boldest and not the shyest.....the one the goes with the flow. Good luck with your new pup.

Congratulations on the decision. From the pic the little guy on the left looks like the sly-dominant pup.
