Does anyone want to make a guess as to when George's ears will stand up? He was born on February 3, 2008, and his ears are still floppy. They are to the stage where they look like bat wings, but they are still down. I got Rosie at ten weeks and she had one ear up and one ear down. By the time she was fourteen weeks old both of her ears were up. He looks really cute with them kind of at half staff. I should have some pictures to share soon.

If you tape them today (Sunday) they'll most likely be up by Friday or Saturday. Breeders recommend taping at 14 weeks old if the ears aren't up.

George's left ear is up; it is still pretty floppy and it seems to flop back down when he is tired. His right ear is almost up, but not quite. He looks really comical with one ear up and one ear half up. His ear came up during the night. Maybe he was doing little ear exercises at night when nobody was looking just so his ear would stand up.

Th breeder we used said if you give them more calcium, their ears will stand up sooner. She suggested cottage cheese. I also mixed some shredded cheese in with his food (not at the same time as the cc). This did seem to speed up the process, but it still took about 2 weeks for them to fully come up. He was about 13 weeks. This was for my red, Bentley. My tri, Kristel's ears came up at 3 weeks!

Tiki always had her ears up since we got her at 16 week, Cruise just turned 19 weeks old....born Jan 2...we got him at 11 weeks...had one ear up and one ear down...Just this week, we have liftoof and the ear is up! We thought he was cute with the one floppy ear so it really did not matter if it came up or not to us but it was fun to see it now stay up.

One of Kiwi's ears popped up this week, it was kind of an overnight thing. I personally think she's just lazy sometimes and doesn't feel like putting it up. Her other ear is just gradually coming up, it's stuck in the in between stage where it folds back and every now and then comes up. I wouldn't worry yet, I've been trying to avoid taping them, so we're just trying to be as patient as possible. Good luck with the ears!

Thank you for the birthday wishes and the same to you. So do you think they will just pop up one night while he is sleeping or is it just a gradual thing. Our Rosie already had one ear up when we got her. When I came home from work one afternoon, my husband asked me if I noticed anything about Rosie and it took me a minute or two to realize that both ears were up. I am almost 100% positive that the one ear was down when I left for work that morning.

Your little George has the same birthday as my Kiwi! I can't believe that, it's great! Kiwi's ears aren't up yet either. They are trying but they are so big that I'm not sure they'll be up anytime soon. Anyway, good luck with the ears...and happy belated birthday!
