I won a free obedience class recently and today was my first class in basic obedience. I took Rosie and during the class Rosie was doing pretty good, but she got to barking and I kept trying to get her to settle down, but Rosie always barks when she gets overly excited. Towards the end of the class the instructor yelled that Rosie was pissing her off. So I took Rosie out of the ring and we left. I understand that Rosie's barking was annoying, but I was trying my best to get her to settle down.…

I just started a new job and I feel so over my head. I came home in tears and when I opened the door there were my two sweet smiling corgi babies. Loving those two is the best medicine in the world. I still think I got into a job that I am not smart enough to handle, but corgis make me think everything will work out somehow.

Someone left a six month old male tri-color corgi at the shelter's front gate. He has been there since August 22, 2009, so his time is limited. He really needs a home ASAP!

George and Rosie went to Bark in the Park and we met some other MyCorgi members and their sweet corgis. We really had a lot of fun even though the weather was really warm.

There is a male corgi who was picked up as a stray and is now at the Peoria, Illinois Animal Shelter (PAWS). He needs a home. The shelter has to keep him for five days to see if his owner claims him, but if they don't he only has a short time. Their telephone number, if anyone is interested, is (309) 494-8700. Does anyone know who does corgi rescue in Central Illinois?

My Dad is so upset because his 12 year old Schnauzer has been diagnosed with Cushings disease and pancreatitis. Peggy Sue was my Mom's dog and I think if she passes that my Dad will lose his last reminder of Mom who died in 2004. I have done some internet research and it seems to be treatable. Has anyone had any experience with these diseases? He also is having trouble getting her to eat the prescription diet that the vet gave her. The vet put her on ID. Dad always gave her lots and lots of…

George was neutered on Thursday and everything went great. We waited until George was six months old because we were waiting for his other testicle to descend. He acts like nothing happened and we are having a hard time keeping him quiet. Our vet told us to not let him be too active for awhile, but George thinks differently. We also had him microchipped.

I walked into the kitchen and thought I had stepped on a piece of broken glass. It wasn't glass, but one of George's baby teeth. We have found four of his teeth so far. We never did find any of Rosie's baby teeth. It seems like he is losing them all within a couple of weeks. The new ones are just starting to break through. If this keeps up he is going to have to eat mushy food. He actually lost one tooth when he was eating a doggie biscuit. I am keeping his teeth, but I would like to do…

George woke us up about 2:30 Monday morning throwing up and with severe diarrhea. I have never seen a dog throw up so much or have such terrible diarrhea. We called our vet on Monday as soon as she was open and she had us bring George right in. His little paws were soaked from sweating and he was very limp. I thought we were going to lose him. The vet ran tests and blood work and everything came back negative. She kept him and put him on an IV. Tuesday, she started him on small amounts of…

Does anyone want to make a guess as to when George's ears will stand up? He was born on February 3, 2008, and his ears are still floppy. They are to the stage where they look like bat wings, but they are still down. I got Rosie at ten weeks and she had one ear up and one ear down. By the time she was fourteen weeks old both of her ears were up. He looks really cute with them kind of at half staff. I should have some pictures to share soon.

After much thought, we did decide to get a little boy puppy. At the breeders, Rosie acted like she was afraid of him and wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Now that he is at home, I am surprised at how well they are getting along. Rosie rolls over onto her back and the puppy and her play. When she has had enough she gets up and walks away. We feed them in different areas of the kitchen and puppy has some crate time so Rosie can have the run of the house by herself. I got out voted on our…

I think Rosie can tell the days of the week. She seems to sense when my days off are. She will stay in bed a little longer than a weekday, but when she wakes up she thinks it is play time. On the weekend mornings we start out with a walk then we play ball before breakfast. Every thing I do takes twice as long because she continually brings me a ball which I have to throw so she can chase it and bring it back to me to throw again. Today after chasing her big ball around the yard she had to have…
