Diarrhea - nightmare for me, no problem for my corgi

Our little guy (finally decided - his name is Risa, pronounced like Reesha in our language) is having this problem for four days now. I switched to rice+chicken on Monday, but it doesn't seem to help. Today I found something looking like rice in his little non-solid poo. I'm not sure if it is really the rice I'm feeding him, or if these are the eggs of some worm. We're going to the vet today, hope he will help.
Interesting thing is, that I seem to be the only one to worry about the diarrhea of my 10-weeks-old pup. Risa is FRAPing like crazy, eating like crazy - behaving normally. Even my boyfriend doesn't worry, saying it's JUST A DIARRHEA! Am I over-worried?

Update: Risa is doing well as always and his stool is a little bit more solid, but the color is still freaky (parts are grey-like, parts yellow, parts yellow-white). The pills really aren't de-wormers, one is stomach-acid regulator and the second is somehow reinforcing the intestine environment.
My boyfriend's dog (8 years old German shepherd) had the "stomach twist" (gastric dilatation-volvulus, I don't know the right term in English) and so Risa's diarrhea seems to be only a minor problem. I hope he will get well soon, maybe I'll check with the vet tomorrow or on Monday again.

I think it's interesting he gave you two pills. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that how one treats tapes? A pill and then a few days later another one? Weird. I'm just glad to hear all is well!!!

really? it was just rice? i thought rice was highly digestible and would have broken down in their little tummies...also james (also on this site) found "rice" which did end up being worms... I guess if he stops eating his food i would go in to have the vet investigate his poo again.

did you switch his diet? sometimes that causes the runs. also, when Scout got vaccinated from Petco, he had MAJOR runs for like a week. I dont think its a common occurence, but it might be a possibility. It was really confusing for me and mark though because we couldnt figure out what the heck was wrong with him. he was just like risa, except for the undigested rice.

That's interesting that the vet didn't think it was worms. Did he tell you what the two kinds of pills are for?

I didn't take Charlie to the vet when he went through a few rounds of the runs, but I did scoop some up in a little plastic baggie and drove it in for testing. LOL Worrying too much, is better in my opinion, than letting something go unchecked that may or may not be serious.

Keep us posted on Risa's improvement!

Visited the vet this afternoon. He thinks that the "rice" is really rice. The last de-worming was 17.5. and so he advised me not to de-worm now. He gave us two kinds of pills for another two days and we'll see how Risa will be on Friday.

The "rice" probably is tapeworms. Your breeder should have wormed the pups, so you may be able to have him/her cover your cost for worming. Worth a call to ask anyway. I expect that having him wormed will cure all his troubles, but let us know if it's something else.

Good luck! Hope Risa feels better soon. : - )

Same here. The rice-looking thingy could be tapeworms. It is a wise decision to see your vet. You also might want to talk to a dog nutritionist (or go to http://dogfoodanalysis.com) and be sure your little one is getting appropriate nutrition and supplementation.

4 days is a little excessive in my book, so you're not the only one. Something is not agreeing with the tummy, and I have a suspicion on the rice looking thingy in the poop as well, glad you're taking her to the vet, let us know how it goes!
