Waiting

I've got 3 more days until I meet my new baby! I can't wait! I'm a little under prepared for her though. The only thing I have right now is her slip collar. I went out and looked at the local pet shops over the weekend but I was pretty disappointed with the kennels and food bowls I was finding. Maybe I am just picky, but from experience with Lily, I kinda am particular about the things we already tried with her. I would like a set of bowls with a stand so that they don't get kicked around all the time but I really couldn't find any! I'm going to go out tomorrow again and try again to find what I need.

I ususally don't use them on puppies because of the chance of tracheal collapse if improperly used. You might want a regular collar and leash instead. As for kennels and food bowls, do you have a PetSmart or PetCo nearby? There are a myriad of bowls and kennels. Just remember the kennel need be no larger than to stand up, turn around and lie down. I have i-crates. They have two doors on them which makes it easy to maneuver them in the house. Getting bowls with a stand that small can be a challenge, however PetSmart, I know, has small stainless steel bowls in a wrought iron stand that would be the right size.

Comment by Karen & Bailey on June 19, 2008 at 12:07am: i see those at Ross all the time - the one with stands. Don't know if there are any Ross's in your area. They are like a discount clothing store, but carry a small selection of pet supplies! But congrats!!!!
