The Antics of Ms. Camber, Part One

Camber can be strange, sometimes.

The other day, I was in the kitchen, doing kitchen-y things, talking with my BF, Moses, about whatever, and Cam comes in, walks towards me, and as she's walking past my legs, she licked me twice and kept going. It was a drive-by lick.

Weird little dog...

Susan,
Sorry I'm just getting back to you. As much as I hate to say it, there are times when I see sadness in Cam. However, all I have to do is remember where she was, emotionally, when we rescued her, and where she is now. Like this morning. As we're leaving for the car, she runs out the door to the car. I'm thinking, "Awww. Isn't that sweet? She wants to drive to work with us." Nope. She wouldn't get in either car. She wanted to go for a walk (we were running late and couldn't walk her this morning). She communicates with us now and I'm so grateful for the little things. Cam is trim and I'm glad that we don't have to worry about getting her weight down. We're in the midst of training and she's getting a ton of yummy treats.

To respond to Banjo's foot fetish......both of our corgi kids are that way. They adore feet, but that licking between my toes makes me queasy!!! UGH.

My little Addie girl, was rescued from an unhappy situation as well, and she is a drive by licker too. Her eyes, and your Camber's eyes look exactly the same. I always see unhappiness, or insecurity in them...something that Jake our male corgi does not have in his. Golly, Addie was 40 lbs when we got her, and she's down to 29 now, after 4 years. Camber is 17, and very trim. Addie has a new goal I think....she is a little hippy.....more green beans in her future.

She's also your friend when you have yummy food.

Just as I am resounded to call Camber a fickle “you know what” towards me, she acts the same to Elys.

Camber likes to follow me around when I bring her to a stranger’s house; she is my best friend then…

I could never come back as a dog with a thing for feet.

Banjo's into feet big time. Woe to anyone who comes to the boutique wearing flip-flops. She's pretty licky with my husband and I to show affection, but with strangers she's always had a foot fetish.

oh and arms and hands, too! I forgot. Probably because it happens so rarely. The hands, though, she's all over, especially if they've been handling lamb, chicken, or beef. I don't encourage the hand licking 'cause that's gross. I mean, I love her, but I don't have to love her spit.

Oh, there will be more antics to come. Got to give it out in small doses.

Cam hasn't gone any lower than the calf--I don't think she's into feet. My friend's Lab is and then she wants to lick your face. Uh, I don't think so...

I mean, I get why they do it. Something about sweat glands. But I've caught her licking the bathroom floor, the wood floor, the leather couch, the bowl--oh, wait. THAT'S not strange for a dog.

Harry licks too. He loves legs and toes...and here I thought he was the only weirdo! lol
