Tigger had to go in for his second heartworm treatment this morning! I was really sad and a little apprehensive about it because he has to stay the night for the 2 rounds of treatment. Tig has been feeling so good for the last week, he looks so fantastic- none of his rib bones are poking out anymore! He was finally back to his happy healthy self- running, barking and jumping. Now, it will be one more month of lockdown. When I dropped him off at our vet, I gave them a big bag of all of his favorite treats- yogurt drops and peanut butter cookies. I told them to keep feeding him cookies because I want this overnight visit to the vets to be as positive as possible. The teenage assistant absolutely loved him- he went right to her. Unfortunately, I can't go and visit him today, because he will think he is going home and it could upset him. At least I know that after this he will be all done! 100% healthy and ready to get started doing fun things!

Molly was a little concerned when I left this morning...but now she will have all day to recuperate from her big weekend. She went to the barn 2 days in a row! Good Times! It has been nearly six weeks since that has happened! The first day, she found a big stash of horse hooves- disgusting (to me) delish to her and her barn buddy emily! She spent both days roaming around, and on Sunday she got to go for a big walk up to the little pond. She was absolutely exhausted Sunday night!

Hi Greg! Thanks for sharing your experience with Nick's heartworm treatment. I am glad that Nick has bounced back!

I had to go thru that with Nick a few months ago, and the 2 night stay turned into a 3 night stay over the weekend because the vet clininc was closed. I'm sure Tigger will come thru this just fine as my Nick did. Just this week we noticed when he was running with my son's corgi Ein when I was visiting them in Atlanta that he was able to keep up with him as they were running around the yard where before he couldn't... Good Luck!
