Well as you know it has been quite rainy, its nice to see the grass getting some water but enough is enough. Lance doesnt like going on wet grass he puts on the brakes, all paws are glued to the cement!! Eventually I will get him to go into the wet grass but he is very picky what section of the wet grass he will go on??? What a funny dog! He will go out into the rain to pee if he really has to go but anything other than that he just rather hold for better weather or just go inside! Lately with all this rain he has decided that he will just do his business inside, ugh! At first it used to be only on the kitchen floor, like he knew better than to go on the carpet, but all of a sudden he will go on the carpet too. : ( What can I do about this stubborness? Its not the pee he has a problem with on rainy days it is when he has to go number 2! Anyone have any similar situations. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. He is 2 1/2 soon to be 3 at the end of October. He is trained to do his business outside. Just being stubborn thanks to the rainy weather. Thanks

Natalie

Corey and Holly have the same problem. If they do not go outside we still have their cages up and they go in them. If we do not put them in then they find a nice place to go in our house. I was thinking of putting up a tent/covered area outside in my yard so they will go. If/when I do I will let you know how it works.

I am sure once this rain stops (and it looks like tonight it finally has), Lance will be fine. I took Spencer for a walk tonight and he was really happy to be out of the house! I was too!!!! I think these crazy corgis go through their phases....and they try to test us too! I know after chasing a squirrel, Spencer has no problem doing his business outside!

Ok so it stopped raining enough to go on 2 walks today! The first walk we just went around the block. The second walk we went around the block and then some...on the second walk he was walking so fast like he was the happiest corgi to finally be on a walk again! It was the fastest I have ever seen him walk, it was like he was on a mission, too cute. Usually he pulls but he wasnt pulling just walking at a really good pace. : )

I just may have to invest in one of those bright yellow stickers, Lance alway loves a good walk and he always is willing to leave behind something on our walks....I guess I just have to start getting wet on our rainy day walks! Boy they know how to manipulate us, dont they! : ) Lance is a character he will go pee on the wet grass in the backyard but only certain areas, what? : ) Gotta love em!

Well we call it being huricaine dogs when we have prolonged rain typically from some tropical system and the doggies have to stay inside alot. I put on my not so attractive bright yellow slicker and basball cap-not a pretty sight- and we walk until we have a winner. I am not certain why walking on wet and puddled asphalt and sidewalk is different than grass but it seems to be great fun for the two rottens. Guess my two will do anything for a walk!

Hi Jenni, yes Lance loves the snow as well, isnt that funny! Yes, I give Lances leash a tug and he will go in the grass but only to pee, not anything else and no matter how many times you take him out he insist on only going pee well eventually he needs to go something besides pee so he does it in the house....ugh....:(

Hi Natalie......Spencer hates the rain too. We can have a foot of snow, thats not a problem. As far as Lance's issues with the wet grass, I have found if I put Spencer on a leash and "take' him out (meaning, drag him on the leash), he has no choice. He gets stubborn in the morning when he first wakes up. I have to "herd" him outside. From what I have been told from other corgi owners, they can be very headstrong!!!!! You have to show him who is boss, otherwise they "run you". Hope that helps!
