Unfortunately, I just got an email from my breeder that Dr. Gonzo won't be ready for at least a week from saturday. *sigh* I understand completely, I would much rather have a healthy puppy than not. I was just soo excited for the weekend. Ah well, next weekend it ish.

Sorry to hear about your delay....but, look at it this way, it gives you more time to buy more TOYS!!!

Aww it's probably for the best. He looks very young. maybe 5 or 6 weeks? It's probably best to wait until 8 or 9 weeks.

I totally agree with Sam and Alla... I was very anxious to get Reese as well. I wasn't able to pick her up until 10 weeks. All of her littermates had already been gone, but she was able to learn and play with the breeders older dogs. She's been quite an Angel thus far... *knock on wood*. I hope Gonzo's health issues aren't severe... just from the picture he just looks too young. Patients is the key...

Hey, Tenley, I understand this feeling! When you are so ready to embrace your new puppy, but... you need to wait longer. I know, it's very upsetting. However, I am so agree with Sam about health issues!
And also, look on the bright side. We got our puppy at 12 weeks. And we were lucky not to experience all sorts of problems which people have with younger puppies.

By 12 weeks he was crate-trained and slept all night calmly since the first day we brought him home. He didn't do much chewing. He could kept his pee for longer periods. He had some socializing with his litter-mates and older dogs at the breeder's house. It was easier to teach him basic commands.

So... no rush! :) and good luck! :)

I would fine it most important to learn the health issue he is experiencing. Sometimes they can be ongoing. They are doing the right thing by treating them and not letting them go while ill but it would be good for you to know the cause.

Haha well at least you understand why! It just makes it that much more exciting when you get your puppy! And something random I wish I would've done when I got winston.... take a pic of him the day you get of him then every month on that day take a pic of him in the same position so you can see how much he grows :]
