It's been awhile

Leon is doing peachy. As peachy as the little dork can be anyway. :) He's decided he hates car wipers and loves sticking his head out the window. What is it with dogs and windows? Whatever. He always looks so blissful and happy. I've made jokes to my mom that he needs a little side car so that he won't try and wiggle himself all the way out of the window when she's driving. She thinks he needs a little red baron hat. I only let him get about half-way, and that's on the slower ends of the trips (lights, signs, school zones, driveways), and make sure I'm fully supporting him so he has nowhere to go. He always tries to wiggle himself just a little more every time though.

Comment by Lou Ann Lemaster on October 19, 2008 at 9:09am: I have the opposite problem with a dog and car. Duncan HATES car rides. He is whining the whole time. It doesn't matter if I'm taking him for a walk in a park, to the store for a few minutes or of course, to the vet. He did that the day we picked him up. He whined the whole way to our house, so of course, I babied him. It was only a ten minute ride. It's funny though, he'll jump right into a car, but as soon as you go down the road, he starts his whining and wants up front.

Comment by Geri & Sidney on October 18, 2008 at 9:31pm: Sidney also likes to sit on my daughter's lap and try to get as far out the window as he can. He perches on her knee like some sort of urban leopard and watches his world go by. It stresses me and I'm always telling my daughter "hang onto his collar!". Crazy dog! I've never known another breed of dog as fearless about car riding!

Comment by Karen & Bailey on October 18, 2008 at 7:44pm: haha. the other day, on the freeway, we saw a guyon a motocycle with a side car, and... there sat a dog in goggles! i thought it was the cutest. looked like a golden retriever, hair flapping in the wind. =P
