Hey!
Lily is going to be spayed tomorrow....poor baby !
I'm worried about her running around and opening the stitches, she loves to play with Jimmy, our Basset Hound. As you know basset are short but heavy....
I know...her crate will be the best place to keep her in, but will she feel comfortable in there using the "cone" ?Should I keep it in her during the night?

I can't say I've ever had a problem with any corgi I had spayed or neutered and never had to use a cone but I did with my aussie, he had to wear a cone but that was more do to the skin irritation. For me the main thing was to prevent the running too much but that really wasn't a problem especially with a kennel or a fence....the 1st day they were too groggy to want to play! Good luck she'll be better in no time!

our vet did not send a cone home with Corie, just said no jumping or running around for a couple of days. She was fine..
Our male is getting snipped on Monday, he may be another story.... we will see..

Hi Renata, the main thing is keep the area dry & clean, due to the nature of the incision, it is usually at a place where she can't reach, however, some corgis do manage to get at the stitches, invest in an inflatable cone and she'll be more comfortable to sleep while wearing it and maneuver better. It is hard to say if she'll be comfortable in her sleep without knowing the size of the crate. Most likely she'll do just fine, especially with Rx. Good luck and get well soon!
