Lily is eating bunnies poop !!!
I don't know how to handle with this , because she use the grass as her "bathroom" . I've tried to make her use the patio area , cause there I can see the "bunnie's poop" and keep her away from it.
It's the fourth time that she is under medication for diarrhea .Any suggestions?

I would tend to agree that it is probably the birds, our dogs eat bunny and deer poop and never had parasites. (until I surrounded the catbox with heavy plants, etc, they would bring it out to the middle of the room and remove the cover and eat that too!) Like Jane, we too use the heartguard plus 6 months a year (we have no fleas or mosquitos YEAH!)

Maybe it's all about the birds after all :)

I should add that the only time we had parasites was when I had my bird feeders in the fenced part of the yard. I moved them to the side where the dogs are fenced away from and have not had a problem since.

other than the parasites thing, you really don't have too much to worry about. bunny poop won't do much harm and it actually could mean that he's missing something in his diet. rabbits will actually eat their own poop so as to make sure that they get all necessary nutrients from their food. i'm not sure what exactly is in the bunny poop that makes it so yummy to our canine friends, but what kind of food do you have your Lily on?? she could be missing something in her diet that makes her find the bunny pellets so desirable....

We live in the country and I have a couple of dogs that won't stay away from it. I give the Iverguard heartworm plus which is a wormer also...like Beth said if you could figure this out...you could market it! I can't watch them every minute but they have never had the loose stools! Good luck!

Bunny poop: if you know a way to keep them from eating it, you can market it and retire. :-) I think most dogs find this snack irrisistable.

She had her poop checked, and yes...parasites :(
My concern about leash walks is during the cold weather and snow. I will have to buy some snow boots for Lily too..

My house backs up to a large park area so I gave up on the bunny and deer poop a long time ago! However, they rarely have loose stools from it. You can be sure to have your dogs poop checked for parasites regularly but the only way to avoid it is either a specially fenced enclosure or leash walks only.
