Well, it has been a busy year. Molly and Tigger have been very busy too! They are the best of buddies. They spend their days napping, running around in the backyard, and going to the barn. This summer they went to a horse show together and they did so well! They have a human cousin, and they are very gentle with him. I am so pleased that they are good with children!

They get along so well that they have many, many nicknames. Most of them having to do with their bad behavior :( While it can be funny calling them things like Molly Hatchet, FrankenTigger, Chupacorgis, the gangbangers- I would be so much happier if it were all in fun and no truth behind their nicknames. The fact of the matter is that they have become very bad on their walks, particularly around other dogs. They have a very strong herding drive and they work very well as a team and all of that energy has been focused negatively. I have learned so much about the pack mentality. Even thought I know walks are necessary, but I've come to dread them because they aren't about walking, getting exercise or bonding with my dog. They had become about them hunting and my fear of what comes around the corner.

Well, I have finally taken steps to do something about it. I have found a trainer. Her dogs are trained to do search and rescue and the minute I saw her amazing dog- I said that was how I wanted my dogs to behave. So we have had our first lesson and it has been 2 full days and it is already working. Tig now comes when I call him and he is actually paying attention to me when we go to the barn. Today I was able to call him to me away from the barking dogs at the fence.

Molly's training is on hold. She's been having UTI's about every 4-6 months, every x-ray showed no kidney stones. But her unrinalysis came back questionable with signs that she had crystals. Well, we got the ultrasound and her bladder was swimmng with cyrstals. The doctors think she has an eptopic infection, so next week surgery! I am just so greatful that she hasn't got tumors or kidney stones.

Sorry to hear about Molly. I sure hope she is Ok. I am a huge fan of obedience classes so I am glad you did that. I have always taken mine to classes and I don't hesitate to do refreshers. It really helps get you on track with how to improve your relationship with your dog. Good for you for doing it. Corgis are so smart it really helps to train them well!
