This is in the blog section b/c it's not a huge concern or a problem, just something I noticed:

Do you ever notice that your corgi sheds most in certain areas?  Scout sheds most at the top of her hind legs / hip area.  If it wasn't for that area, she would prob only shed 1/3 as much.

She got a bath and brushing yesterday (starting to get that corn chip smell...wierd but true) and I had plenty of time to think about it while I was brushing (a good 1/2 hour or more)  Neighbors probably thought it was snowing...lol. I think corgis shed so much b/c they want to fly and since they themselves can't fly, their hair does the job for them when we brush them outside.

YES! Mine shed a lot near the butt and haunches, and nearly not at all around the ruff.

YES!   Jack sheds most along the back of his haunches going into his pants.  Maddie sheds constantly, year-round, from her sides way down near her belly.   Grrrr.      When they blow coat, they both shed all over; Jack is left with no undercoat while Maddie always retains hers (new coming in while old coming out).   But the non-stop shedding is definitely confined to certain areas, and not the same area on both dogs.
