On Saturday, Sidney and I walked in the San Diego Humane Society's "Barkin' Beach Bash" with Team Low Rider II.
The original Low Rider team that Sidney and I captain is for the Escondido Humane Society, which is in a smaller town in northern San Diego County. The event we went to Saturday is for the Humane Society for San Diego County. Both Team Low Riders are made up of San Diego Corgi meetup members - how cool is that?
I was not captain for Team Low Rider II, so I don't have exact numbers, but I hear we raised over $1700! Yay team!
This walk took place at Crown Point, right on the bay. I took Sid down to the water, where he avoided the water but frapped on the sand. Before and after the walk we visited the vendor booths and Sid got his fill of free treats. It was like trick-or-treating for dogs!
Here's Sidney getting ready for the walk to start:

And here we are on the walk. That's me waving :)
On an unrelated note, it seems we've finally found a kibble that we're both happy with. Sidney was on Rotations, but the food is getting too hard to find. We tried TOTW, but Sid didn't like it very much. The food that we found where I'm happy with the nutritionals and Sidney actually eats it is Natural Balance Alpha Dog (fish formula). It's grain free yet moderate protein. His coat is still lovely, stools are firm and no gas. I'm so glad we've found a winner!

It was great getting together with you and our fellow Corgiers out of our usual rotation meetup, Geri. You nailed it with the trick or treating for dogs! We actually bought a storage container with drawers for all the goodies we picked up.
