What brand do u feed ur corgis and why? I have been giving Max Iams puppy food and now he's ready to move to adult food. I was thinking of switching brands since i have to change his food anyway. I'm looking for something less expensive but still nutritious if possible.

We started Finn on Blue Buffalo puppy then went to Wellness Super5Mix for adults and he now eats Natural Balance Duck and Potato. The Buffalo and Wellness were both chicken and he seems to have developed an intolerance to chicken. Natural balance it great and uses unusual proteins such as duck and venison which our vet recommended. Great food but a bit pricy. It's about $35 for a small bag (17 lb) and the large (30 lb) bag is about $50. Wellness was in this same price range but I believe Blue Buffalo was a little less.

I would suggest going to http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ and checking for a food that has what you are looking for. I don't think they give prices but obviously the more stars, the more you can expect to spend. When I was shopping on their I would find a few foods I liked the sound of the search online for prices to help narrow it down. Good luck!

The Whole Dog Journal (Christy refers to it also) has a great reference to good dog foods and not so good dog foods! I love this monthly newsletter/mag! I feed mine Premium Edge and there are 4 adult formulas with meat being the 1st ingredient! I usually use the salmon but occasionally buy the chicken for something different.

We feed ours Innova because it is rated pretty high and that is what the doberman eats and her stomach is so delicate that switching her food is a real nightmare. It is a lot easier to have them all on the same food.

I use Iam's Lamb and Rice. I know there are some people here who will say it's horrible for your dogs, but we like it. It's affordable, a named meat meal is the first ingredient, the protein and calorie counts are about where I want them for my dogs. The breeder used Eukanuba but their lamb and rice started with lamb, not meal, which means you lose a lot when the moisture is taken out.

I have mine on Natures Recipe right now but am moving them to Blue Buffalo, I also use By Nature. I like to change their food every 6 months between these brands to prevent any allergies to specific proteins and alleveate any bordom with a brand of food. This is someting my vet reccomends and a magazine called Whole Dog Journal does also. As far a price point goes Natures Recipe is the cheapest then Blue Buffalo and the most expensive is By Nature. I would love to feed them Natures Variety Instinct Rabbit Formula but that is beyond my price point so every once in awhile I buy a small bag and give it to them as treats instead.

Romeo eats Buffalo. I heard good reviews on this dog food and they do not use Chicken or lamb or beef by product. But a small bag is $30 and a big bag is $60. (Dry food)
