Miso is in BIG TROUBLE right now. She's been chewing paper lately. Or anything she can get her mouth on. First, she chewed on the phone book. That wasn't so bad, aside from a bit of slobber and a piece of the first few pages chewed out. What she's in BIG TROUBLE for is getting into daddy's DVD collection, selecting his Venture Brothers. CD (his pride and joy among his DVDs, oft rewatched), and chewing up the cardboard cover. Needless to say, he is extremely angry now. The DVD itself is fine, but the cover is not.

Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? Should I bitter apple spray the DVD collection? I really don't want to use the stuff that keeps them from even coming near it, it nauseates me.

I'd appreciate any suggestions ya'll could give.

When she isn't in her crate keep her tied to you on a leash so that you always know what she's doing. If she starts to chew something inappropriate, substitute her toy for it. If you can't watch her carefully, in the crate she goes. Also, make sure she gets enough exercise. Corgis need a lot. A tired puppy is a good puppy. :)

Puppies and small children help us become very neat until they are old enough to be trusted. She is probably teething. Take a look around from her point of view and either move things or restrict the rooms she is allowed in when not being watched. Give her cow bones and kongs with a little cheese or peanut butter to encourage chewing on good things. Pieces of carrots and apple are good too especially if they are cold. This stage passes and your husband will always think of her when he watches that movie!

I would keep the DVDs where she can't get to them. Corgi-proof your home, as we child-proof them when our kids start crawling. And always be aware, since they can get ahold of things that you wouldn't think they could!

I would crate her, all mine were untill they could be trusted and then it was a slow process of baby gates and access to areas being allowed as they proved to be reliable

Oh,Oh...I've had a few things chewed...what does she have to chew on???are they redily avaiable to her...I don't use rawhides as they make my dogs throw up but I use cow hooves and all of my dogs love these and the pups take one when they leave for their new homes...BUT they have to be USDA or they stink... or kongs with peanut butter work but not as well for my crew I guess I would try tha bitter apple till you can find something she can chew on ...just not to get anyone anymore upset...How old is she...can you fence her off when you can't watch her??? don't have any sure fixes just some thoughts! Good-Luck!!!!!!!
