I took chloe to the dog park today, it is separated between large and small, so we go to small side. Things were fine until a jack russell mix boy came-he , barred teeth, Chloe ran behind my legs, then sat down to me on the bench, she was very friendly to all the people. I probably did not help but I was nervous since seemed showed her teeth back. I could tell that she would want to play but when this dog came by she changed her mind. The owner's brother in law said that their dog has to run his energy, barks at everyone, but then calms down. Chloe seemed too nervous, so I just left. I think I may need to go back tomorrow though I do not want her to be vary of something she really liked.

This evening we went back to the park, and a lot of fun dogs were there. Chloe even played with two other Corgi's. I am glad that we went back. Thanks for your comments.

Torri and Ringo are happier in the big dog side. They may do a submissive pose when first meeting a new big dog, but they quickly make friends and play with them.

I find that my two do better on the big side of the dog park - the little dogs are often too "unstable" - most people dislike breeds like pits and german shepards, but I'm more negative towards Jack Russels and other yappy things - they tend to cause much more drama than the bigger dogs.

Sometimes if a very dominate dog is around, giving "keep away" vibes, Jack won't go anywhere near them and will stay far away just like you describe. It hasn't affected his dealings with other dogs, though. I think it's a good idea to take Chloe somewhere where she'll see other dogs again, but make sure you approach it as just a normal day, saying hi to dogs, because if you are nervous/concerned about her reaction she could pick up on that
