Corgi meetup in Taipei and some observation on Corgis.

We had Corgi meetup in Taipei this past weekend in a garden restaurant.  Tons of Corgis showed up.  However, the weather did not cooperate and it rained. So we all had to move indoors after a while.  However it was still fun for everyone.  People took alot of pics while we were outside.  You can see them here.

As it happens, there was a doggie birthday party for a French bulldog indoor.  There was about 20 frenchie there.  As you can imagine restaurant can get a little hectic with 40 corgis and 20 frenchies mingling.  However, I made an interesting observation.  A lot of Corgis were running around, some were staying put with their owners, but they were very well behaved.  No barking, no frapping, no fighting, they just run around and said hi to everyone, and see if there are treats to be had.  I was very impressed.

On the other hand, the frenchies were loud, barking, some fights even broke out among themselves.  It was kind of obnoxious.  There was a fight between two frenchies, and there were 7 Corgi onlookers!  They looked like they were watching a sporting event and following the frenchies' movements with smiles on their face.  It was a surreal sight!

The good news was, the birthday French bulldog's owner bought way too much birthday cake.  So all of the Corgis get some cake too!  All in all, it was a good day with the Corgis and I am so proud to be a Corgis owner!

I am so jealous David that you guys get to meet so many other corgis and the restuarants in Taipei must be very good to allow you all indoors!  We had the Million Paws Walk last weekend which is a fund raising event and thousands of dogs come and do a walk together - i did get to see about 7 corgis or crosses but there are just not that many in Perth (Western Australia) I would love to get them all together as they seem to know they are the same breed - i didnt notice any "Brindle" coloured corgis in your photo's? and only a couple of Tri's - must not be very common over there - take care - Victoria (ill put some pics of the walk on soon)

That's awesome Dave! Of all the corgi picnics that I've been to, there was only one incident and it was over in 9 seconds. We're talking about 100-200 corgis together under 4 acres :)

Wonderful pics of the Corgis.  Love the video-- they appear not to even notice they are in the water..just intent on each other.  So cute!  Thanks for the report and pics David!

Thanks for the report, David.  It's great fun to read about corgi from around the world.   Our little Welsh friends have seemingly conquered the planet!

For those who, like me, don't read Chinese:  I ran the url for the Taiwanese web page through Google Translate and it helps a little with captions.  Seeing the literal translation of the corgi's names is fun too.  Translation Link.

Oh man, I just love that! Those are some of the cutest pictures and I love seeing how many variants you can have in the Corgi breed. Thanks!
