On January 5th our newspaper, The Lansing State Journal, printed an article about a visit to a local high school by a Hope College professor that uses his Welsh Corgi ,Elvis, to help teach calculus. I read about this a few years ago but did not realize that he lived in Michigan. He noticed while playing fetch with Elvis that the dog took the shortest and best route to the ball every time. Always knew our buddies were smart!

I always knew they were smarter than me. Good think they are not bigger with thumbs or they would rule the world!

I'm a Hope College alum and I met Elvis on campus several times while I was there.  Because of him I fell in love with corgis and now have my own, a little tri-color named Emma Frost.  I've done similar experiments with her and she also does calculus!  Maybe it's a corgi thing.
