Bear was a terrible car rider when he was a pup - would sit in the seat and whine and cry. He got over it by about 4 or 5 months, and I was glad. Goldy has also been a bit of a nightmare in the car, so much drama.
On Saturday I was going to see a friend and her new baby about an hour north of here and I decided to take Goldy on her first "long" car ride. She was in the backseat with a blankie and a chew. She cried the entire way up and back - nothing loud and dramatic, just the nonstop hmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm. The only time she fell asleep was about 15 minutes from home.
So today I put them both in the car to go to the dog park. Bear laid down in the backseat and she curled up right next to him and they both went to sleep (the ride to the dog park is all of 10 minutes).
It was then that I realized. She didn't understand why she was alone in the car on Saturday. She didn't know where Bear was - they've been together every minute since I brought her home - except when she has gone to the vet.
I think she missed him and was worried about him.
