I am sorry to report that my sister in-law who got a corgi ( Axel ) about one month after we got our Quin, is having trouble with her neighbor who is poisoning her dogs. One of the dogs who was a Boston terrier and belonged to her daughters boyfriend died and Axel was in very bad shape, he was vomiting blood and had blood in his urine. Terry has spent a lot of money at the vets, luckily she found the poisoned patties in the backyard and took them to the vet and the police I guess Axel was younger or didn't get as much poison as the other dog so he is recuperating it was rat poison and Tylenol. The Police have a special detective on the case they said the because one of the dogs died it is more serious and is treated differently then if they were poisoned and didn't die:( I hope they catch him throwing stuff over the fence or they wont be able to do anything. One of the neighbors (he works nights) had complained about the dogs barking and she started bringing the dogs in right away after they did their business the other neighbors have dogs also but apparently he has only poisoned hers. She went around to all the other neighbors to warn them. So now she has to go out in her own back yard which has a six foot block wall all the way around it and walk her dog on a leash and be on the look out for food and grab it away from her dog before he can woof it down.

Gosh - I hope that the police are able to identify the person who is doing this.

I agree with Stephanie, a web cam looking out a window or placed on the porch could prove extremely useful in helping the police deal with the dirtbag.  Webcams with night vision capability are under $20.

I'm with Colleen in that abusers usually start with animals and as she says it's a big "red flag".  Of course, that doesn't help Axil.  Sounds like your sister is wise to take him on a leash - just to be on the safe side.  In the country, we sometimes have to do that especially at night because of skunks, porcupines or coyotes:)

i just read the blog about the other dog down in southern CA that was poisioned. How could anyone do such a horrible thing to any animal is beyond me!  I hope they find out who did it and put them away for a very long time!

So sorry this is a criminal act and I believe they should get jail time. They should give him a little poison just enough to make him sick so he will suffer and know what it feels like. This make me so angry!!!!
