It is hard to say "no" to a dog who wants to play, but when I really don't want to be disturbed, I put the proffered ball on the piano. Al gets the message. Eventually.
That is so funny! You have to love the Corgi drive. I have one like that and one who is just mellow inside, but get her outside with a frisbee and she's a demon. She once carried her frisbee with her for an entire walk, about a mile and a half or so. Put it down to pee, picked it back up again when we struck off....
LOL. I do this with Stanley's toys too when I don't want to play. It's so funny because he'll look around the floor with this look of desperation like "I've gotta find something for her to throw" and inevitably he'll trot back to me with whatever he can find, which is usually one of his daddy's dirty socks.....

Dear Al: NanMom does the same thing. It got to the point where she had to put the lid down on her baby grand to accommodate all the stuff we were getting into! Now, if you stare at those balls long enough...............Bear, Tasha and Linus
Oh if only my dog was that easy. Putting a toy on furntiture wouldn't stop Po. Before you know it he'd be up there trying to get it, or scratching the piano to try and coerce you into bringing the ball back down. So toys are hidden by placing them out of sight i.e, under clothes and walking into an off limits room where it is then hidden out of sight of the doorway to ensure the dog doesn't see it, at which point he will attempt at all costs to get into said room. *sigh* Such a production.
