After a rough weekend, and 4 hours on the road Monday night to get Dooley, as he is now named, life is getting back to wonderful! He's an absolute joy of a fur ball -- and OMG! does he have the fur! It's everywhere, in my coffe cup, bed, car, on my clothes -- oh, well, it's been said that no outfit is complete without pet hair!

I've tried my best to get photos of his "stubby" legs, but he won't stand still long enough. He's just so happy to be someplace where there are others to play with, a warm bed to sleep in, fresh water 3 times a day, and a big backyard -- that actually needs to be mowed -- and needless to say, a "circular" path in the house where he can chase the others around, around, and around until they "pass out" from dizziness! Did I mention his fur?

I've also tried very hard to inspect his teeth -- well, he's very protective of my touching his lips, so I'll wait until he's more comfortable -- oh, yeah, did I mention his -- shoot! Some of his fur just flew by!

As far as his fluffy tail -- unfortunately, there is a bad Corgi breeder up in the area where Dooley was dumped in the kill shelter, a breeder who's only in it for the money, not standards, and his tail never got docked. I found this out today when talking with the coordinator at Ford County HS, as she is working on getting 2 more litters away from this breeder, one litter not yet born, and one litter about 9-10 months old that he didn't sell from last year -- all pups look like Corgi/mixes, because of the bad blood lines -- cough, cough, did I mention -- oops! just swallowed some fur!

Dooley's markings are so elaborately symmetrical that it's causing an optical illusion, making his snout appear much longer and more pointed than it is -- another photo shot I'm trying to capture so you all can see his "stubby" nose. And out of that snout comes the Corgi-roo-roo-roooooo and the purr-grrr that is Corgi cuteness --- have I talked
bauot -- oh, no! Dooley;z fur is rapped in my keybard!

Whatever Dooley is, he's close enough to purrrfect for me -- did I say anythin -- oh, gosh, I've got Dooley fur in my eyelashes and can barely see now!

LOL! Hope you all enjoyed reading this -- wathc out fur the fur, pffffffffth, pffffth!

I have a plate in my kitchen with two corgis on it that says "the cook is not responsible for dog hair in the food" sounds like Dooley (cute name) would fit right in!

Sounds like Dooley needs a run through with a furminator brush :)
I'm so glad to hear that he is safe with you and now has other doggy buddies to play with. I've been following his story and had hoped he would end up safe. It's sad to hear when people are just producing dogs for profit. What's the point if unwanted dogs are going to be the outcome....

Dooley's spreading his joy all over your house haha. I'm so happy for him that he's now in the care of someone like you. So glad that he's out of that mean ol' shelter. He deserves better!

Hi, Jane! -- That's the one of the purposes of this blog, to make people aware of how many states don't have laws that protect the domestic animals -- Kansas is one of them. Oklahoma is working hard on cracking down on "backyard breeders," but has nothing against animal cruelty, neglect, or abuse, because they fall under Department of Agriculture as "livestock," as does Kansas laws -- we've still got a long way to go in this part of the country!

I love your descriptions!...Can't they do something about this breeder...like close them down...if it's so hard to get a dog from Kansas then they should have strict regulations for idiot breeders like this...sorry this just makes me MAD...poor dogs!

Dooley look lik he's having the time of his life and that he's not a shy little guy! Have fun...
