Exploritory surgery part 2 **UPDATED**

Today is the day! In fact as I am writing this as the are getting her ready to go into surgery.
I've had a long weekend with little sleep because she had to go out about every hour to go potty. But this morning I woke up to her being as playful as ever. I think that the antibiotics are starting to work. It just made me so happy seeing her run around like crazy and constantly squeaking her toy like she used to. (And she can squeak toys for hours)

The vet called me and they are doing another blood test to see if her kidneys are okay. I will update again when I hear more. I am one nervous puppy mommy.

**UPDATE** It has been a rough day. I got a call from the vets office while she was in surgery saying it was cancer and it was wrapped around her intestine. They said if they didn't remove it she'd die and even if they were to remove it she could die. I completely lost it and waited a very long hour and half to hear back from the vet to see how she did. Around 1pm I got the call that she was out of surgery and was doing well. Her intestine was pink and doing normal movements and all of her other organs looked very healthy. They are going to send the mass in to get it tested, but for now Callie is doing fine. She has to stay at the vets office for a few days to watch her and make sure her intestine has time to heal and to make sure it functions properly.

Once I heard she was okay I felt so relieved. There is still a lot that has to be figured out. I just pray that this is it and she won't have any other growths. I will be posting updates as we find out more and as she heals.

I will pray that your little girl makes a complete recovery. Remember, that while doctors do many wonderful things, they do not know what the future holds. they may know statistically what happens but each dog is unique and they can never ever know for sure which way an illness will go.. Sending you and Callie loving and healing energy.

I hope all goes well with your visit. Poor girl, she has been through so much. It is a good thing they have short memories and will soon be forgotten by her! I hope you are holding up as well. When will you hear back from the pathologist? Good thoughts going your way.

I am on my phone now because my parents internet went out. Yesterday when I visited she was in a cage covered in blankets. I just called in and she is more awake and alert today and doesn't like the cone and is mad she has to wear it. I get to visit her in an hour and will get to ask more questions.

I am glad that the surgery went well. You and Callie are in my thoughts and prayers. Do they let you into her "crate" so you can hold her when you visit? Wishing you all the best.

Sorry to hear about Callie, but good news that the surgery went well. We will keep you in our thougts and prayers. Hopefully she will be home soon playing with her squeaky toys. Check with your vet about a payment plan...Most are very understanding. I know there are some organizations that will help with vet expenses...not sure what might be available in your area.

oh gosh, we are all sending your and Callie our best through this ordeal. That's so good you could spend time with her, I'm sure it lifted her spirits as much as it did yours. Keep us updated, we're rooting for you.

I'm so sorry to hear about Callie. I saw in your profile she's only a little over 2yr so she has her youth on her side. I can only imagine how happy she was to see you when you visited and the tshirt will give her comfort while she recovers. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery.

I thank everyone for their support. It's going to be a long recovery, and I have no idea how I'm going to pay for this. I haven't been able to work because I just had surgery and between starting to pay back my college loans and my rent I have no money left. Maybe I could start some sort of fund raiser? I guess I just need to take this one step at a time.
