First Foster Puppy, Needs a Name, Any Help?

So I may be getting my first foster puppy soon (I've been fostering cats for the past four years), a 9 week old female corgi that people bought and then returned, this is all the information I know so far. I'll post more as I get it. Problem is, I had kind of decided that I wanted to get Orion a friend at some point, I was thinking I would once I get into vet school but it would actually be a lot easier to train a puppy now and it may be easier for Orion to get along with a friend since he's 15 weeks old himself and I wanted to get a female because I'd heard male/female mixes go together better than same sex pairs. So I may end up adopting her on my own, am I crazy for wanting to take on another pup right now? I feel like it may be easier to get through all the puppy stuff at one time rather than have another puppy as soon as Orion's grown out of his puppiness. Anyways, she'll need a name and I'm looking for something that will go with Orion in case I'm keeping her. I'll have to convince my mother (I'm living at my parents house for the summer until I'm back at school) that another corgi is necessary in my life, haha.
So any suggestions in names would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Carol- Haha I read that and wondered where Garlic came from! Haha I guess it does look like Onion

Sam- I've been working with this organization for a little over 4 years and have gone to veterinary and animal welfare conferences with the members so I have a great support system so hopefully that will be helpful. If I do end up being over my head I have a lot lot lot of people to help me out and I'm very close with the president of the organization

Judi- aw Cassie is a cute idea, I'll have to add that to my prospective name list :)

We got Griffyn when Soffie was a year old. She helped us pick him. And they get along great!!! As far as a name..... how about Cassie (short for Cassiopia / keeping with the constellation theme)

Hi Monica, It is not my intention to discourage you, just want you to hear it from someone who's already been there. As far as fostering goes, find a good mentor in your rescue, someone who is patient, understanding, appreciate your undeveloped skill and willing to take you under their wings. Taking in fosters while taking care of your own is not easy, if you got in over your head, you risk injuring your own pack. Make sure you understand all the rescue's legal documents, what you are liable for and what is the rescue's vet care procedure, your own financial responsibility...etc. Grad school is not easy, do an honest assessment with your own finance first, weight in your own environment stability, your job security and social schedule before decide to take on a challenge. There are other ways to assist rescues such as volunteer as a transporter, an interviewer who does home visits for new adoptive parents and many other creative fundraising efforts...etc. If you insist on going down this path, then prepare yourself mentally for all the upcoming joys and heartbreak in this journey.

Monica! I appologize, I guess my eyes just are not working quite right this morning! I see now that I went to your page, that your corgi's name is ORION, not Onion! What a big mistake, I am so sorry, I don't know where my brain or eyes were!

Congratulations on your foster...adoption(?)! A 9 week old and a 15 week old, good luck! I have thought I would like to foster, but would not be able to give one up, and my spouse says no more pets! We rescued Lucky from a snowbank outside of Reno when he was about 9 monts old and Odie was a little over a year, so the ages aren't the same as yours - we also had our own house. But...Odie had chronic health conditions and our youngest was a handful, so I think you never have the "perfect" conditions, if the corgis fit/get along and your mom says OK, then I say adopt! Name, oh my, with Lucky we had 2 pages of names! He was found on Christmas Eve, so we at first thought Nick, but he just wasn't a Nick...we settled on Lucky because it fit him and he had been found outside of Reno, etc, etc. Onion is such a great name! My first thought was Garlic, but NO! Just start brainstorming, I'm sure there are more creative people than myself on this site, but then find something that fits her. Be sure to post some pictures.
