Followup to Cardi needs a home (merle boy "for trade")

You guys ROCK! Thanks to the efforts here and the hard work of the Cardi people, we know his pedigree, his breeder knows about it, and she's contacting her attorney in the morning. He WAS sold on a neuter contract and without papers (which is why they were looking to use him to make mixed-breed dogs) so there is hope that she can either get him back or rehome him appropriately.

I am always impressed with the care and commitment of dog people :). Yay for you all!

No; it's been handed over to his breeder. She is probably closer than you are, and she's going to take care of it as far as I know. She was consulting her attorney yesterday and hopefully things will happen.

If you need a transport for this dog, I can help...I know you're/they are working on it BUT if you would need to get him out of there fast and the "now owner" would want him out. I would still do this...just in case! I live abourt3-4 hours away!

That's great news. I hope he is removed from that home soon. I can't believe they went against the contract. It's clear on all neuter contracts I've seen that failure to neuter could result in repossession of the dog, producing litters will result in seizure of dog and pups, so on and so forth. Our breeder didn't require proof that Finn was fixed but I did email him to let him know. Had I not volunteered that information I'm sure he would have asked eventually.

I too wish I were closer so I could help. I do hope he finds a good home.

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted.

Never mess with Corgi Lovers! I think this is a great detective story, and I hope it's going to have a happy ending for that handsome merle fellow.

I feel sad for the dogs that get bounced around, because I am sure it is stressful for them. But it is good news that something can hopefully be done for him and that he can find a home with someone who will love him for him, and not what they can get from him. I wish I were closer to help. I would love to have a cardi in my life.

That is great! I'm sad that this person thought it was okay to go behind the breeder's back and try to make money off of mix-breed pups (which, btw, although the so called "augis" are cute, just as any puppy is, two high energy, high drive breeds cannot possibly make for a good family pet and I don't understand why anyone is intentionally breeding them). I hope all continue to goes well in this story and that this poor boy gets the wonderful home he deserves. Keep us updated!

This is wonderful! I also hopped on to check on this first thing this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed that he'll soon be back with his breeder.

First thing I did this morning ( after a cup of tea) was to check on how the situation was going. SO happy to hear things are progressing. Wish I could take him home with me and include him in our spoiled rotten corgi family.
