So I was on Save-a-Dog today because my virtual foster corgi from California was adopted.  I was searching for a new corgi to virtually foster (Brady and I are still unemployed and our lives are still unstable so I cannot unfortunately foster in real life) and this loving face popped up. http://apps.facebook.com/save-a-dog/facebook/fosters/show/8415432

" Won't you think about adopting me?"

Update for Marti -- he was adopted last week.  He does not appear, yet, in the "Successes" section of the Midwest Animal Pet Rescue website, but he will soon.  Godspeed, little Marti!

MARs did get back to me.  Here's what they said:

"There are no issues with the eye he lost now that it is gone. That is why it had to be taken or he would have had issues. He is just a normal dog who we have nick named One-eyed jack, cause he looks up at you so cute,
like he is winking. He doesn't need a special care facility. He runs with his four legged foster brothers and sister and you would never know he only has the use of one eye. He is just a happy go lucky little guy."  They say they don't know why the eye was 'dead' -- he came from the shelter that way.

I suppose we should just continue to watch over him and make sure he get's adopted soon.

Midwest Animal Rescue just informed me they had to remove one of Marti's eyes because "it was dead"!

Marti, doesn't have any medical issues due to the fact that we were able to take care of them through our vet. He has been fully vetted, mirochipped, neutered and has had to have one eye removed because it was dead.   All of our dogs are vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped and registered. His adoption fee is $325.00.

I don't feel they were very willing to disclose much.  I did ask them what their plan is for him and if they would consider contacting Lakeshore Corgi rescue.  I  noticed that their site did have corgis with medical concerns/conditions.  I emailed MARs that website info.  Haven't heard back yet but will report what I hear.

I did send them a message that I really didn't want to foster right now but to contact me if they couldn't find one and also let them know he was posted on a corgi site:)

The rescue is out in Minneapolis, but they're not always held there. He is Neutered according to the listed info though.

If he is neutered...he would probably be absolutely great with your girls...I have an unneutered male, 2 neutered males and a male pup....you know what....they are much easier than intact females....

Oh! He pulls my heart but my husband says he doesn't think a male would be good for our girls.  I am making a comment so I will be able to follow the emails.  If we can do something to help.  .  .  Where is he now?

I am not ready to foster right now due to wanting to get Zip in spring and all the snow but I will be sending them a message as to if they run out of options to let me know...hopefully someone here can do it. I am waiting patiently for my password to be sent so I can email them:)
