Thanks.  It was traumatic.  I always feel like such a failure when I can't "fix" it.  And I think in his case, this was just poor breeding and being poked by kids.  He was constantly over-stimulated.  It was sad to watch.  We'd make progress and then he'd go right back to his attacking behavior with no provocation and no warning.  Hopefully now he's at peace and enjoying playing with the others over the Bridge.

Gosh that's a sad story. Thanks for trying. Not everybody makes it, it sometimes makes no sense, and nobody gets outa here alive. Many things we will never understand.
Sounds to me like you've endured some traumatic stress. Give yourself a break; you deserve it.

I'm so sorry. I know you tried your best. I remember another member telling her story about her rescue corgi who also had aggression, actually attacked her badly, and they had to put him down too. Sadly sometimes that's the only option.

So so sorry :(

Sigh.  We lost him.  He turned out to have idiopathic aggression.  He was completely unpredictable and scared our other dogs to death.  After a few months it became necessary to euthanize.  We did all we could.  I worked him with two different trainer/behaviorists.  I cannot begin to say how crushed we were over this.  And, in all honesty, I think I'm stepping away from rescues for a while.  My heart needs to heal.

*squeee! * He's so cute! He could be an undocked Pembroke..he's got all the classic red pembroke color patterns. Do you know what he weighs? What a gorgeous fellow!

Thanks Beth. I'd like to think he's winning the owner lottery.

Oh, how wonderful! And he will be stunning once his coat is sorted out. He is landing in a great home.

What a handsome little guy and look he is using his sweet eyes :) It is amazing to me that people can give away their babies. He will be in a much better place.
