About 2 months ago we started letting Oppy sleep in bed with us. I was pretty against it at first because I'm a finicky sleeper and tend to roll around a lot. It was tough enough getting used to sleeping with another person, now add a dog that will just stare at you if you ask it to roll over. Despite my skepticism, he's done very well. He finds the spot between mine and Hilliary's feet and curls up down there not bothering either of us. Just 2 weeks or so ago he started doing something a little different. Hilliary has to leave for work before I even wake up, so when she gets up, Oppy wakes up too. He used to just fall back asleep at the foot of the bed or in Hilliary's spot, but recently he's started to come and lay on the top part of my pillow. It's like I have a form fitting head warmer which is nice for these mornings where it's starting to get a little colder. Most of the time I don't mind, but when he starts poking my face with that cold wet nose, well, that's quite a wake up call.

The "sub prime portion!" Bev, that cracked me up.

My dogs don't come on the bed, but my cat sleeps between the two of us and always shifts position so she's curled up perfectly against me when I roll over. But when she was a kitten, she used to sleep up against the top of my head quite a bit. I actually tried to stop her, but cats are more persistent than dogs and after two nights of diligently moving her every time she went on my pillow, only to have her move back, I gave up.

Ruh-roh! Do I detect maybe you need a nose muff for Oppy -- LOL! Seriously, you're right, it is a wake up call, but there's still nothing like the little bed warmer no matter what part of the bed they sleep on!

Izzy always lays with her head on my husbands\'s pillow which gives me the sub prime portion. Needless to say I wash her fuzzy booty regularly! Sparty like to lay between us with his head on my arm or leg. Makes moving the covers around a little difficult but I don't mind.

My Dillon used to do that. He slept right up next to me with his head on my shoulder for 6 years until he felt comfortable with me (he came from the Humane Society after having a very traumatic first 3 months of life). After that, one night he migrated to my pillow and stayed there every night until the day he died.

Well like I said, he does it when Hilliary wakes up for work, but he didn't always do it. It's only started happening the last 2-3 weeks and he's been sleeping in bed for about 2-3 months now.

I swear Wynn knows I'm waking up before I do(I must roll over or do something to clue him)...He jumps up and body slams me and talks!!! I love it! I wonder if you're giving Oppy a signal too???

Aww, I love it when Wrigley sleeps next to me. The nose, not so much, but I think it's adorable he wants to be so close to me. :)

I love to read with my arm around both dogs and fall asleep with my face buried in Al's ruff. Al eventually retires to the foot of the bed because he gets too hot or I smell bad, and Gwynn goes to her bedroom crate (she has two). Gwynn gets back in bed in the morning. Sometimes I wake up with the subprime end of the dog in my face.

I tell you what there ain't nothing like a little warm furry body sleeping next to you, and I'm not talking about the husband either.
