I'd love to know if any of you have hints about getting a dog to wear a Halloween costume.Tasha has been invited already to 2 halloween costume parties. I've never tried to put anything on her except her collar & leash.

That's cool, Tasha the party dog!
Like everyone else stated start slow and have treats (or pieces of kibble) ready. Ella hates the outfits that have head gear, and her ears always get out anyway, so we try for things that only go on her body. Rubbing the head/ears helps get things over the head for the most part.
Good luck.

I have to laugh. My dogs have a social life vastly superior to my own -- how many parties were YOU invited to? hahahaha. My guys are perfectly amenable to wearing stuff, without too much trouble. The head gear that goes under the chin seems the most annoying part to them -- you might want to just try a makeshift hat/mask before you invest any $$$ to see if they will put up with it. (Ethel tells me that loads of cookies will help to overcome any sartorial trauma.)

I found these at Target last year. They are actually for cats but Sparty and Izzy tolerated them well.

try to make it a positive experience for her. show he the costume and give her a treat, let her smell it and then put it on her back and give lots of praise or treat. sometimes dogs freak out at first at things like this so i always try to make it fun/positive. she might not even care if u try:)
