On Saturday, our Sidney turned two years old! I can't believe how quickly time has passed. It seems like not that long ago, he was still a young pup and we were just experiencing life as corgi parents.
He's such a great dog and I am so happy he is part of our family!
I decided to make him a birthday cake. I have a book of "doggie recipes"...recipes for treats OK for dog and human alike.
This is the banana cake with carob/cream cheese frosting. The recipe calls for carob powder, but I only needed a tablespoon and the store had a huge canister. I decided to buy carob chips (in bulk, just a small amount) and pulverize them instead. It gave the frosting a speckled appearance, but in retrospect it came out looking sweet.
Sidney checks out the cake.
And takes a cautious lick of frosting.
And decides it's really good!
Sidney shared with his doggie brothers...and even the cat liked it!
