My husband and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary this weekend!  EEEK!

We have been tossing around the idea of a trip to the woods in Tennessee to perhaps rent out a cabin and enjoy a nice weekend away from home.  LeeLoo included.

Does anyone know of anywhere that they allow dogs?  We want this first family vacation to be special and we can't even imagine boarding her.  She's our only kid right now and we're not going to leave her behind.

I would love any suggestions or new twists to this idea.  I know some hotels allow dogs, but we would like to be away from the hustle and just relax..in our hot tub..on the deck..with a corgi nearby.

Rebecca, we decided on Stony Brook Cabins & Chalets. They had everything we were wanting in a 'get away' place!  We can't stop looking at the amazing pictures and imagining LeeLoo peeking over the window at us in the hot tub!  Good luck in your traveling!  I will report (probably with pictures) after the trip!  Thanks to everyone!

Hi Stephanie-- I am glad you found a place. I'm looking to go out that way myself with my 2. Would you recommend this place. And whats the name of the outfit you went thru. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!  We used petswelcome.com and found a secluded home-away-from-home for two days near Gatlinburg!

Too far for you but for future planning Mission Point Hotel on Mackinaw Island in Michigan allows dogs in part of their hotel and the island especially in the fall is so peaceful. No cars allowed just bikes and horses, one of my favorite places..water views and lots of hiking trails.

yes, Gatlinburg has many cabins to rent that are dog friendly. I was looking at some myself. Just google cabins for rent in Gatlinburg, and your will find many to choose from. Be sure to read reviews.

We stayed at a GREAT bed and breakfast that are actually cabins on lake Nolichucky.  We rented the loft - the bedroom is upstairs with a huge window overlooking the lake, old fashioned claw foot tub.  It's pretty basic - bring cooking equipment, charcoal, etc.  Breakfast was wonderful, homemade cookies and ice cream daily.  It's called Nolichucky Bluffs, near Greenville, $50 per night.  They were also running a special if you friend them on facebook, not sure they still are.  They also had some bigger cabins that are more furnished I think, but we really enjoyed it.
