We're pregnant with our first baby! LeeLoo has been an amazing nurse, following me more intently since we found out. She stays with me during the morning sickness and takes advantage of the extended sleeping hours I now follow. We're so excited she will be a part of our family as we welcome a new one into the mix.
This is what made her recent diagnosis of cancer and revelation she's really 10 even harder. We've known for two months we were pregnant and just imagining her not…

It started as a uveal cyst in Loo's left eye. We took her to the Ophthalmologist to get it checked out. The cyst is fine and will take care of itself. But...
other issues in her eyes, the beginning of cataracts and a hemorrhage in her right eye, got the ball rolling on pinpointing her age. When we adopted her in 2010, we were told by the rescue she was 5. Test results from her eye and stomach are reflecting she is 10+!
At her initial vet…

I'm not vet-groomer-specialist-anything. But we did have a shaving experience with the groomer. I said 'trim her up for summer' and I came back to find Loo cut down to her undercoat. Freaked me out. I must have a smart groomer because she said that cutting them down to the undercoat would allow the hair to grow back healthy. Taking it down all the way and it would not grow back as well.
My husband and I have had many discussions about shaving. We asked the vet-the vet said it…

Loo has been babying her back and back legs for a few days now. Not sure if she twisted it or fell when we weren't home. No running, no jumping, no happy corgi! Took her to the vet to get pain meds and anti-inflammatory pills. That's the best part of the vet visit..
She has had a 'floater' in her left eye for some time now. Not visible when we got her-we checked our baby out! It's alien to us, but it is growing. She will need to be seen by a doggy eye doctor and prepped for…

Halloween's not even over yet and I'm thinking about packing away LeeLoo's banana split costume with the realistic thought of never using it again. I bought it from Old Navy in September brand new. Size Medium. Would anyone be interested in swapping out their dog's costume for LeeLoo's? She's flea/bug/anything free. She only wore it twice. I would pay for shipping to you if you would pay shipping to me of your dog's costume! Please let me know! I'd love to get some kind of sharing…

My husband and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary this weekend! EEEK!
We have been tossing around the idea of a trip to the woods in Tennessee to perhaps rent out a cabin and enjoy a nice weekend away from home. LeeLoo included.
Does anyone know of anywhere that they allow dogs? We want this first family vacation to be special and we can't even imagine boarding her. She's our only kid right now and we're not going to leave her behind.
I would love any…

I need help! I would like to create a t-shirt with all kinds of 'corgi-isms'. So far I have 'derp, bunny butt, cow spot' and others.
I would like to polish it up real nice and sell them. Once the final version is done, I'll post it. Thanks for your help!

LeeLoo and I met Winston at the 9/3 Ohio Valley Pembroke Welsh Corgi rescue event. He's a beautiful dog! A little shy, but he came around just in the few hours we were with him.
This rescue is amazing to work with. We live in Southern Indiana and even though our dog was originally in Ohio, we worked it out to meet half way in Kentucky. Don't ever let distance get between you and the dog of your dreams!
BTW, LeeLoo is curled up between my legs asleep and snoring but I'm…

We adopted LeeLoo through a rescue. The amount of time, gas, patience and work that went into getting me my dog is incredible, especially from people who rescue or foster for no money or recognition.
I have been a volunteer for the Vanderburgh Humane Society for about 6 years now. On Sunday, I'll be helping with my first transport since adopting LeeLoo and it finally makes sense to me why this is so important. I have no plans for Sunday and an 8 year old Brittany Springer Spaniel…

LeeLoo's newest most favorite pastime, while out on her after breakfast potty break, is to sniff the yard for rabbit poop. If she happens to find some, she gobbles it right up. This disgusts me and I understand that dogs aren't people, but I'm more concerned about there being something toxic in the poop that will make her sick.
I've tried to follow her around and nudge her along when she finds a 'stash,' but she just hops on ahead and finds some more. We live in a semi-wooded area…

LeeLoo has her first bladder infection (with us). I became suspicious about two weeks ago when she peed in the house. She usually is left home for the day alone and we've never had any problems. She has peed 4 times inside throughout the past two weeks and has also thrown up twice. Just a summer note of caution if you notice any of these uncharacteristic behaviors in your dog. Her activity (and cuteness) level has stayed the same. We almost shrugged it off as 'oh, it's summer and she's…

I have read the posts on here about which vacuum to use in homes with corgis. My question is what is the difference between a vacuum and a vacuum with the word PET in front of it?
We have a 3-4 year old Dyson vacuum. Since we have adopted LeeLoo, it has slowly started to die. I cleaned it last night and gobs and gobs of hair and dirt were jammed in the hose up to the canister. Do PET vacuums not have this problem?
We need a new vacuum fast! I have researched…

We were alerted by the vet at our first visit with LeeLoo that she wears her front nails down much lower than her back. We basically have never cut her front-most nails on her feet while we have to cut her rear ones every few weeks. This past weekend, she began bleeding through a cracked nail on one of the short nails. Has anyone else encountered this? She has worn this poor nail down to the quick.
We notice when she runs, she does apply a lot of pressure when her feet come down…

LeeLoo has a red Kong ball that we gave her earlier this week. She enjoys it for hours on end. BUT all she does is noses it around the room, leaving slobber trails everywhere! She does not chomp down on it, throw it, or bit it. If anything, she brings it to a spot she likes, flops down and licks the tar out of it. She's even dropped it in her water dish to soften the cookies.
We asked her vet about her actions, and she believes Loo is herding the ball! Has anyone else…

LeeLoo is our little miracle. We have been trying to purchase a house in Newburgh for about a month. Back and forth contract negotiations and about giving up on the house have stretched both my husband and I to our limits. But on the day we were to begin signing paper work for the house, we received an e-mail from the Ohio Valley Corgi rescue stating that they had found us a dog. She was 4, over weight, and named Olga.…
