We adopted LeeLoo through a rescue.  The amount of time, gas, patience and work that went into getting me my dog is incredible, especially from people who rescue or foster for no money or recognition.

I have been a volunteer for the Vanderburgh Humane Society for about 6 years now.  On Sunday, I'll be helping with my first transport since adopting LeeLoo and it finally makes sense to me why this is so important.  I have no plans for Sunday and an 8 year old Brittany Springer Spaniel needs a ride getting to Terre Haute, Indiana.  Someday someone who adopts him will say a silent thanks to those who got him to them, like I have many times when I look at LeeLoo.

If you have the time, resources, space, interest, please get into rescuing/volunteering/transporting.  Sometimes humane societies just need people to help socialize animals (petting cats, walking dogs, playing with puppies).  It's not all cat litter and dog poop.

And again, thanks to all those who had a hand in bringing Loo into our lives!  Joan-Neena-Karen-Animal Friends Humane Society

*side note:  Loo will not be making the trip because she is evil towards other dogs. :-)

I agree....it's soooo rewarding and I would also like to thank people like Joanna (Calvin and Rainy), Jennifer (Jackson) and Deb (Norm) who have driven great distances to adopt a Corgi! sometimes people don't want to drive 30 miles but these 3 have driven above and beyond to help a Corgi and Joanna has driven almost 1/2way across the country not once but twice to give  a corgi a wonderful new home:)

I wish I didn't have to work so I could do more with dogs....maybe someday!
