Here it is only the end of May and we are in the hot days of summer--at least here in Central Illinois. And I'm not the only one that thinks that; two baby Corgis agree! It's amazing that when the weather is moderate, it is almost impossible to get the boys to come inside. With this blazing hot weather, it's difficult to get them to go OUT. To further complicate things, Taffy has fallen victim to what I call OBS (Obstinate Bowel Syndrome)! There are just TOO many things to do outside that are more important than pooping! Huey, on the other hand, wants to get it done so he can focus on the more important things like chewing sticks, barking at the sprinkler, or carrying around items he shouldn't even be able to lift, much less carry! Taffy would rather do all those things first, and put off the BM until it becomes absolutely critical and he has to grab the first spot, however undesirable it might be. He's such a hoot.
But when it does actually become time to go in, they head right to the kitchen floor, with its cool tile, where they spread out in all directions--however the spirit moves them. I saw Taffy in a new position last night. He was on his back under the chair, with his feet on the lower rung.
Every day is a new experience with them. Or, I should say, a series of new experiences! People ask if two are twice as much work. Sometimes, yes. But for the most part ( at least 99.9% of the time), it's easily outweighed by having twice the love! I still miss Stinky Wink's quiet presence, and I always will. But I sense him here every once in a while, helping to get the little guys in shape. Way to go, Winker, my besses puppo!
