I make a mean cup of coffee -- in fact, they pay me to do it! My husband and I live the island life with our furbabies on 5 acres, and always make the time to hang out on the beach.

- Maya is a 6-year-old tri-colored Pem! She is a feisty female whose favorite past-time is RUNNING! Running for a ball, a stick, another dog, anything that she can run for! Those little legs sure can move! She spends her down-time on the back of the couch [like a cat] or pestering her big brother, Moses. When she's done running, she's the best snuggler in the world -- second only to Murphy [RIP little piggo]. Maverick is a very sweet little boy with soulful eyes and an abnormal fondness for his crate. Learning from his sister, he lays on the back of the couch and is almost as fast of a runner. He would be up to speed with her, but when he runs, his lifts his front legs so high in front of him that his paws basically go over his head.. using too much energy on that method, little bud!

We've had a pretty big last few months (my sister passed away October 27th and his grandma passed away December 11th) so with the services and holidays and visits and family get-togethers, we didn't really get to decorate the house like we wanted to. We put up a tree and played Elf on the Shelf a bit, but that was the extent of it. Any who, it's Christmas Eve morning and my boyfriend says he has a surprise for me. I just wanted to let the MyCorgi world know that Maverick is doing AWESOME. He is a puppy so obviously the chewing and potty training is at the forefront, but other than that, he is doing abnormally well for a puppy.
At first, he didn't really have his legs under control.. it looked like his back legs had grown a little faster than they should have, and he was klutzy and clumsy, but after running around every day, he has figured it out and is so FAST for a little guy!! I know…

Sunday July 8th, one week ago today, I decided to Google any upcoming corgi litters in the area. I found a litter born June 16th with a couple male pups available. I sent the woman an email and within the hour had multiple pictures of the male my boyfriend and I liked best. We sent her our reserve deposit and officially started the countdown to picking up our new baby boy, Maverick. The woman had names for her pups for reference and our choice's name was Raccoon, which was kind of a sign…

I am so sorry about your aussie/lab mix. Thats is one of the hardest things to do. But we all know when it is time. I love that quote! We are nt sticking with "M" names this time around. We keep going back and forth. We like Charlie for our boy (Charlie from Willy Wonka for me and from the peanuts for my husband) or Henri and Lucy (Peanuts) or Ruby (grandmothers name) for the girl. We will see what fits them when we get them home. I like Filbert and Hank, those are nice names :) Thanks for the warm welcome!!
I am so sorry to hear about your Murphy. It seems like you and I each had an amazing Murph! My boy passed in January 2012 and ot a day goes by when I do not think of him, talk about him and talk to him. Glad to hear Maverick is doing so well!
One of Wynn's pups is also named Mav after our Maverick...he's nice but a little devil:)

We have dog beds all over the bedroom and they start on our bed but jump down later which is good cuz it's not comfortable with too many on the bed...2 kings should do it:)
Aussies are good and hairy:) Armani is part of our corgi family and the pups always think he's a sheep and bark and try to herd him...he just growls but they ignore it!
Congrats on your upcoming new addition:) It's a start to having a whole "gang"! He is so handsome!!!!
