Well...my Ella was chasing tennis balls on the snow covered lake this morning when suddenly she let out a yelp and now she won't put weight on her back leg.  Anyone have this happen?

Limping is a wait-and-see thing, but three-legged lame warrants a trip to the vet.

Yeah, it happened to Cassie -- front leg. Limped for a couple of days but then she got better. Vet said to watch and wait. Fortunately it resolved on its own.

This happened to Wynn many years ago, it was a beautiful spring day and he was running like crazy. I took him in the next day and it wasn't a ACL tear but he did need steroids and something else. He was fine after a week or so but we still took it easy! Hard to say but not always a tear!

Oh I sure hope it's not a torn ACL but I will keep an eye on her for the weekend.  Thanks for your responses!

yep Lilly's was a torn ACL we tried a little baby aspirin first to see if it was just pain / swelling

If she's still tripoding I'd take her in on monday. Could be an ACL tear.
